Where did this come from, it says photocopies will not be accepted, they could say a printed one is copied?

Also i have a Mazda, will these deals still apply?
#2
I found it on the official renault website. http://www.renault.co.uk/ownerservices/servicing/minute/minute.aspx then you will see the vouchers on the bottom of the page and when you click on them, hey presto!! As for whether they will cover a mazda I guess a phone call will answer that one for you.

Perfect timing then, i have just got a slow puncture, and need to get it fixed, i know where i'm off to tomorrow :)
#8
The classic homer simpson scam..... Find a small independent garage with a good reputation, you will never set foot in a dealer again.....
#9
what do you reckon they would say if I took in a tyre on an alloy with a nail in it... but one that isn't actually on my car?... chancing my luck too far?

They cant force you to have any work done on your car. If they offer a free check then you go get that free check and tell them you dont want any work done on your car.

Whats the good of a free check ? Most garages will give you a "free check" it's a way of getting extra work, for example your brake pads maybe 70% worn so they will say they need replacing as where they are serviceable for a further 10000 miles.
#13
Get real, free inspections are designed to generate work, Kwik Fit did the same a few years ago, they take one look at your tyre, then tell you the puncture is too close to the wall so then by law you need a new tyre, easy money, they will check your other tyres and defo find somekind of fault, and if your car is more than 4 years old then gauranteed you will get stung with AC and saftey check.
watch that Simsons episode where Homer gets hit with the same scam. a free tyre check which requires 4 new tyres, very funny, but very very true.............

That's what they said to me, I said "thanks, do you know of any other tyre replacement garages in the area?" There was no danger they were getting the business.

Cheers

Totally cold.

People at HUKD don't seem to like freebies which COULD lead to spending if they're naive enough, yet somehow that's the deal's fault.

I don't understand why this comment.

Unless I am missing something then they are offering to repair a puncture for FREE aren't they?
#18
In my experience all tyre firms like this do free puncture repair anyway, and I have always had to persuade them to take payment, usually 'the price of a drink' to the guy that did the job personally rather than through the till.

They see it as a loss leader. This is just a publicising of the same thing.
#19
After reading the T&C it seems that they will only perform the checks after they have repaired any parts they deem need repairing. Therefore you will have to pay for the repairs before you can get the free safety check. I vote this cold as awkward mechanics could potentially find anything that needs repairing on a car.

Yes, there's not much ambiguity in "Free tyre puncture repair". The only caveat is the **Only available at dealerships that offer this service.

If you take in a spare tyre and ask for a repair I'd say you're pretty likely to get it. They surely don't expect you to drive in on a flat.

Then they will charge you for a new valve and balancing+ vat, and if the punctuere is not near the middle of the tread they are likly to say its too close to the sidewall and quote for a new tyre...... I'm surprised people are falling for this.

No one's falling for anything as far as I can see...if they say that's the case and you know it's not then protest against it, if they try to bill you for a new tyre or whatever say no thanks and move on...realistically they will do some repairs for free so it's worth going along.

The Tyre repair will be free, its the extras that will be charged for, they may well say we will not repair it unless you have a new valve and balance" for safety reasons". There are great deals and freebies available on this forum, its just this isn't one of them! Please don't think I'm being negative for the sake of it .

I am equally surprised that you find it difficult to refuse a scam like that and say NO to what they try to sell you and insist ONLY on what they are offering for free.
#25
I went into Kwik Fit a couple of years ago with a very slow puncture. To their credit they repaired the puncture completely free of charge and that was on a company car where they could've easily have charged the leasing company.

What is the use of an 'Air Conditioning Check'? I know mine doesn't work because no cold air comes out of it.

What's the point in me getting my car serviced? I know it works...
#28
Nice find! It's worth taking my car down the road just to see exactly what this is all about. Heat added!

Any car - or just a Renault?

Might not be broken - just might need the gas topping up which is only about £50
