The McDonalds of the Coffee world!

lol..

Wish they could refill the arm and leg I have to part with to buy a skinny latte venti aventguarde in the first place
#4
So is this one standard coffee refill for every drink or the same again - 2 white choc mochas and I might be sick on their sweetness :-D
#5
Save yourself even more by not going to Starbucks in the first place.
#6

I agree with the above!

I boycott Starbucks and so do many of my colleagues, friends and family! If only people knew the real truth of what Starbucks is really about you too would never purchase anything ever again from Starbucks, unless you support them!

I have read a few articles on Starbucks and they do unfortunately support the same view about them.

It's definately a cold one from me for obvious reasons.

Why do offers posted here have to turn into a political back and forth about right and wrong. As consumers we have the wonderful ability to silently choose to visit a merchant or indeed not too. This is absolutely not the place to force ones opinion onto others.

Starbucks have very tasty filter coffee and that's what I normally drink there. It's actually pretty cheap for filter coffee too so now I'll get twice as wired!

Why? Because you don't like something for free?

as the OP says, it's a tall freshly brewed coffee - i.e. not a 'refill' as such.

'tall' is small - grande is medium and venti is large

freshly brewed coffee is the cheap filter coffee, not made with espresso

That cheap filter coffee has a chance of actually tasting like coffee - unlike that burnt espresso muck.

Would vote this hot, but at Starbucks' prices it's still not a deal.

Wetherspoons at 99p and a free biscuit, or Sainsburys cafe for me, I'm afraid. Just can't bring myself to pay the prices Starbucks charge. It's all a bit posey too. Thanks for pointing it out though.

I agree with you 100%. HUKD should not be used as a political platform. If you dig hard enough you will be able to dig up all sorts of controversy about any major company in the world.

Now lets keep HUKD the lighthearted place it should be. Without it I would be a lot poorer (or richer, depending on what way you look at it.) I have saved a fortune over thanks to this site.

Well folks, don't worry for too long. The free coffee is because they are losing business and because they presumably have way tooooo much stock (:whistling:) now they have decided to close down 600 outlets in the US and 2/3 of the ones in Oz (61 outlets). Personally, I am fascinated to see what they end up doing in the UK. ;-)

The McDonalds of the Coffee world!

So true...

How is it a refill if you buy a mocha for example and get a "Tall Freshly Brewed Coffee" (whatever that is)?

Why do offers posted here have to turn into a political back and forth about right and wrong.

Because some people want to be informed (and to inform others) about the products they consume. Not everyone wants to be ignorant, with head stuck in the sand

As consumers we have the wonderful ability to silently choose to visit a merchant or indeed not too.

We also have the "wonderful ability" to be vocal about a merchant we visit (or not).

This is absolutely not the place to force ones opinion onto others.

"force"? You seem to be the only one trying to force your views upon others - the pro/anti starbucks people are simply putting their opinion across; YOU are telling people not to post unless they write something you agree with.

I can't think of a better place to air those opinions, I mean it would be a bit useless to goto a sports forum and say "starbucks is great/sucks" in the middle of a discussion of the offside rule.

Please, the political banter rather detracts.

A good deal, but the drinks just aren't hot enough for me there. The water has to be near-boiling in my opinion.
#19
Great deal.

Politics aside. I am not really a fan of Starbucks.
I dont like coffee in mugs and the prices are sky high.

However, their fresh brew is rather nice and cheaper.
A lot of the other coffee chains dont do fresh brewed coffee as such.

So whenever I feel like one i do nip into a Starbucks.

great find. will try it tomorrow.

What annoys me is the price of tea. I am not a coffee drinker and they only need hot water and a tea bag but still charge an extortionate price. If they give me a tea refill I might go in there again -otherwise Mcdonalds tea for me.

Your views on the company have no bearing on the hotness of a deal.

Has a quick look at those links. I couldn't read any more on those sites unfortunately because my work firewall blocks hate-speech.
I notice one of them present sitself in Google as:
ZioPedia - All There Is To Know About Zionism - Latest Articles
All there is to know on Zionism. The mission of ZioPedia.org is to demask and expose Zionist crimes and Jewish supremacism.

I found this a little worrying too:

Due to what it calls the "Zionist Mafia," the firmly anti-Zionist ZioPedia.org Web site has been barred from using Google's ad space and donation accounts at Paypal and StormPay for the past few months.

Brought to attention by the Australian Anti-Defamation League, ZioPedia breaches the three sites' acceptable use policies by promoting hate, violence or racial intolerance.

I'm a little confused by why inminds is being quoted as a source either. Do you usually get your political views from software companies (albeit ones set-up to write software to promote Islam)?

I'm sure there are perfectly valid reasons not to use Starbucks but the links quoted certainly don't seem to be the soprt of thing I'd like to base any opinion on.

I like hot drinks too - you just have to say 'extra hot' and they make them so by steaming the milk for longer.

Oh! Repped for that tip! Cheers,

I asked about this today and was told I could only get a free refill if I bought filter coffee in the first place (I bought a Misto). Seems odd that They will only give you free stuff if you buy the cheapest drink on the menu
#32
Whoops, seems like a lot of political patter about a cup of coffee.. Thanks to the poster for the tip will be investing in a couple of papers today to enjoy a coffee with my wife.....
Cheers!!
#33
does this offer still apply?
#34
Bespoke offers have a deal on where you get a yenner of Starbucks cash for a fiver, technically half price drinks, also if you buy a venti filter coffee for example then refill with the same but an extra shot (they've never charged me for this upon refill) you get four and a half quids worth of coffee for 95p

Venti (xl) coffee = £1.90 x2 = £3.80 + like 80p for a ln espresso shot and a syrup shot =£4.60
But you're only paying for your first coffee.. which is kinda half price
