just came accross this deal on line and thought i was a decent deal for a decent phone.

u can get a Samsung F480 Tocco Pink or Black + a Free 8GB iPod Touch for £25 a month of Orange dolphin or canary

Phone Spec:
Not much bigger than a credit card and only 11.6mm thick, the Samsung F480 Tocco is a small and beautifully formed mobile phone with a large 2.8 inch screen, 5MP auto-focus flash camera and a full touch navigation.

The user-interface is intuitive, simple-to-use, customisable (through the use of drag-and-drop widgets) and features haptic technology to provide sensory feedback when you make a selection.

The camera includes Face Detection, which automatically adjusts the camera settings when you are taking photos of people to give you the best possible shot. Plus Smile Shot technology makes it debut on a mobile phone which knows to automatically take a photo when your subject is smiling. There is an Image Stabiliser, Power LED Flash, plus photo editing features to make your pictures look great before uploading them to your blog - which you can do directly from the Tocco.

Naturally, the F480 Tocco is a highly competent Music Player with support for many digital music file formats (with scrollable album art) and an RDS FM Radio. You can get files on to your Tocco with ease and speed as it supports USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.0 and is capable of high-speed HSDPA Internet access at speeds of up to 7.2Mbps - so web surfing and email will be rapid too!

The Samsung Tocco comes with a luxurious leather case and features a gorgeous brushed-aluminium exterior. It looks great and has features to match. Stand out in style with the Samsung F480 Tocco

edited the title now looking at alot of deals all are 18 or 24 months apparently most companys are going to get rid of the 12 month contract so it looks like a good deal to me

had to dig a bit to find out how many minutes / texts were included in Canary & Dolphin talkplans to evaluate if this is a hot deal:
400 mins with a option of unlimited UK texts, or 400mins + 500 UK texts + unlimted calls to orange phones.
Phone may be great but I suspect the deal is mediocre, possibly killed by the 24m contract.

maybe I misunderstand your comment, but a deal is not acceptably hot just because the vendor choses to limit purchase options to the vendor's favour.
2 years is a very long time to commit to one phone, and I suspect the 24m contract is desireable to the networks so that the effective result is more mid-term upgrades = contract renewal = customer retention.
Erring towards a cold vote, purely due to the 24m contract outweighing the benefit of the inclusive ipod (I have real difficulty with applying the term "free" to this deal).

i dont like 24 month contracts either but i have heard all networks are stopping the 12 month contract and will only be offering 18 or 24 months so for 6 months differnence i think its a great deal

phone is avaialable at same monthly cost with the same talkplan but only 18m contract direct from Orange website.

possibly best summary of this post would be:

if this phone on the Orange network and 400mins Orange talkplan(s) is what you are looking for, then comit to 24m contract rather than 18m to receive an 8GB ipod touch at no additional cost on top of the extended 6m line rental.

2 year contract, no thanks! Prefer the traditional 12 months. Not many gifts etc would tempt me to signup for 24 months, unless I could upgrade after 12.
