£100 if you get this with an accessory - http://www.topcashback.co.uk/o2/

Good for those who missed out on the Desire S deal
#2
Quidco is actually paying out £90 with this phone (for the next 3 days only) or £100 with an accessory like TopCashback!! Cracking deal if all you want is the phone, but there's bound to be some moron who complains about the mins/txts on this plan ;0) Heat added!!!
#3
I think that HTC DESIRE S is better than this offer.

More likely that some moron will complain about 24 month contract!
I personally don't care, esp as someone who only uses this many minutes is probably less likely to care about it being 24month, fine for a light user, seems a nice phone. Heat Added.

desire s maybe a better offer for some people granted, but not everyone wants a desire s, and that deal is now expired.

£162 for the phone and mins is ok then?
#8
don't forget there is no flash on the ace
#9
the ace is a pretty rubbish android phone, the desire s was great because it does the top of the range stuff, this is just a san fransico really, not hot from me.
#10
Nice post OP but Quidco shouldn't really be included in the headline price as it's not guaranteed.

Just to make it clear:

24 months @ £ 10.50 (50 min / 250 txt) = £ 252

Best (standalone) Quidco = £ 90 (expires soon!)

Total price = £ 162

Nice deal. Have some heat.

I quite like this phone. Has a slightly better processor and camera but, you're right, the San Fran isn't too far off.

Build quality should be slightly better too.

Full comparison here

EDIT: Yowser! I didn't realize the screen resolution on the San Fran was *that* good.

I bought one the other day at e2save, £18 a month on talk mobile. 300 mins, 1000texts and unlimited web on a 24 month contract.

£46 quidco and 11months free line rental via the dreaded redemption. Total cost for 2 years should be £188 or £7.83 a month. Even if the redemption goes **** up it will have cost £386 over 24 months or £16.08 a month with quidco. Which seems a better deal to me as the contract gives decent mins/texts/web

Fair point Paul but this deal is good way the get the handset which is currently at least £200 on PAYG. That's the way I'm reading it anyway.

He means there is no support for Adobe Flash, not a camera flash - Unless I am mistaken.

I just ordered this phone, with the £100 cash-back (If you buy an accessory). Now to see if it will track!

Hi Morty. You might want clean up the original post as the figures you mention aren't really relevant to the £162 deal. Why am I taking such an interest? Because I was going to post this deal but you got there first! :D

EDIT: Nice job Morty!

This one's for a limited audience but those on o2 broadband don't forget the £5 monthly discount even of you sold the phone and kept the sim in a drawer - possible £120 saving on broadband over the life of the contract.
#22
be careful with the O2 £10.50 deals, they don'tinclude internet time, which to be fair is kind of the point of a smart phone, in fact with teh £10.50 deal (unless things have changed since last month) you can't even buy a bolt on, the cheapest deal you can get which allows an internet bolt on is £15 and teh cheapest Bolt on is £10 therfore £25 a month contract.

not worth the advertising fee
#23
Don't forget that if you have O2 broadband with this, then you will get £5 off that every month too :-)

Bear in mind that buying the phone through this deal will work out cheaper than buying it on PAYG if the Quidco tracks (which, although it's not guaranteed, it should).

Then pop in your Tesco or giffgaff SIM (both piggy-back on the O2 network) and voila!

This doesn't matter now that Skyfire 4.0 has been released. Transcodes flash to html5. I tested it this morning on the Orange San Francisco, made up now I can use iplayer on the San Fran, I never thought I'd see the day. Yes that's correct iplayer on the San Fran and youtube direct in the browser. I'm really glad because I often go to BBC News and Sport websites and can't play the bloody vids, now I can.

Please forgive the following assumptions:

1. Quidco pays out £90 in the third month of the contract.
2. Current account interest remains at 0.16% over the next 24 months
3. Selling the phone on eBay achieves £200

In taking out the contract you receive a phone and a commitment to pay £10.50 per month. By selling the phone on eBay (and allowing £15 for fees etc.) you receive £185 to be placed in a normal current account earning a measly 0.16% aer. After 1 month, this sum increases to £185.025 but £10.50 is deducted = £174.525.

Each month interest is earned and the £10.50 paid, apart from month three in which £90 from quidco is received. By the end of the 24th month, £252 will have been paid and £275.47 received leaving a (relatively) risk-free profit of £23.47 and the use of a spare sim card for 2 years.

As we've assumed interest rates will remain as they are, perhaps we should do the same with inflation (4%) in which case the equivalent purchasing power of the £10.50 monthly by the 24th month would be about £9.70. By discounting the required monthly payments as such, the total required in present value terms would be £231.84, with total received of £273.93 – amazing how we've turned that profit of £23.47 into £42.09, well sort of...

In other words, I vote hot.

good for you and your plan to take over the world... yeesh its just a phone

The appeal to me (And I believe others) is not the contract.

Since the phone is free on the cheapest pay monthly rate, it essentially becomes an interest free payment plan over 2 years for the phone.

£10.50 a month over 2 years = £252.

Less the £90 cashback means you're essentially paying £164 over 24 months (£6.83 a month) for a relatively decent phone, and you're paying less over that time than you would if you bought it outright, because of the cashback.

I never plan to use this phone on the O2 network, is my point - I've got a Giffgaff SIM waiting to be put in it.
#33
I have recently bought a pay monthly phone from O2 and TCB has tracked the cashback.

If I buy this phone, will I be paid cashback for this one via TCB as well? The reason I am asking this because previously I bought two phones from e2save and they paid me cashback only for one. Is it likely to be the case with O2 as well?

Thanks in advance.

You should have been paid cashback per handset if you got them on pay as you go. I bought 2 in the past ans got paid £14ish.
Raise a ticket for the remaining £7.

So how much on top is this going to cost you over 24 months ? Bearing in mind you need a Data deal to use the phone correctly ?

COLD!

WHY?
1. 50 mins. only? Come on, we aren't that lonely
2. No Internet allowance. What's the point of having an Android phone if you can't use Mobile internet ?

OP, the phone costs £160 SIM Free, not £220! And,t he phoen isn't that great. I would sell it as soon as I got it!
So. [ ( 10.50 x 24 ) - 90 - 160 ] = £0.083pm. Very good deal if you DONT need the use of mobile internet and dont have any friends! i.e. COLD in general
