      24months ? - are you serious ?

why would anyone want to tie themselves with the same phone for 24months.

This phone will be out of date after 6 months, and you will be bored with it after 12 !!!

      hi, welcome to Earth

On Earth the majority of contracts for mobile phones run for 24 months.

No contracts run for 6 months

The HTC Desire is 18 months old... Runs the latest version of Android... Runs virtually every app on the market.

This phone will be updated to Android 4 and already has huge community support.

Most iPhones are sold on 24 month contracts... What a bunch of morons.

£557.96 after Cashback & Quidco. Not bad, seen many 12 month deals on here for this phone that works out around £509. This is also a very usable tariff, with plenty of everything (600 mins, 500 texts, 1gb internet)

be warned, buying from a 3rd party means that you will get t-mobiles capped data service, in other words, no 2mbit downloads only 350k odd :(

To get the faster net you would have to ask for the web and walk + which is an additional £5 a month...

It's best not to encourage this guy by replying (although that's what I'm doing I suppose). Wasn't he banned for a while?

Anyway the £25 a month deal is excellent if it includes a free phone. In the last week I got this phone myself (on Talkmobile via e2save - £25pm for 600 mins, 1500 texts, 1gb data, £46.46 cashback from TCB). It is truly a magnificent piece of equipment and will certainly do the job for 24 months or beyond. My colleagues with iphones are jealous, which is a major achievement!

EU law dictates that all providers will have to offer 12 months contracts - who said anything about 6 months ?

If you want to walk around with a 2 year old phone with 2 year old technology that's up to you but I guess most sensible people would be looking for the latest tech after 12 months

look at how things have moved over the last 12 months - anyone one buying a 24month contract now has got he word "MUG" written on their forehead

The iPhones 3GS is still on sale... "2 year old phone with 2 year old technology"

      TRUE !!!!

just think how sexy the iphone 6 (in 2012) will be in 12 months time !! - that's why you would have to be a mug to buy a 24 month contract

as long as it has CyanogenMod (or similar community support) which according to forums will be/is possible, this phone will continue to be amazing for a lot longer than people think

If you took out a 24 month contract before smartphones were released you would have been kicking yourself

Lock your self in to a 24 month contract and miss out on tomorrows technology (c)

I would treat mobile phone on monthly contract as a hire purchase deal. It's perfect when you cannot afford an initial lump sum for the phone that you like!

You could always sell the handset when you get 'bored' of it and put some money towards a newer phone.

      lol @ horacevankhute

you need to wake up and smell the coffee...not everyone can buy a phone outright

you are getting the phone for free....for that you tie yourself into a 24month contract...like you do with all latest phones.

horacevankhute...show everyone here a deal like the one above where you can go into a 12 month contract or less AND get the phone free WITH the amount of minutes / texts etc

You either pay a high price for a phone and a shorter contract, or you get the phone free and you go for a longer one - either way they have got you buy the crown jewels!!

Lets see what deal you can find...instead of slating everyone here ;)
