I decided to see if there were any decent mobile offers around which included a PS3. This is the same company I used to get an Xbox 360 a year and a half a go and they are part of Carphone Warehouse. Very legit.

I think this is a great offer because unlike many others which include a PS3, this is only 12 months and a reasonable cost for the contract.

£30 * 12 = £360

PS3 = £260
Phone = £70
Cashback = -£20
Total = £310

Plus you're getting 200 mins and 200 texts pm.

Great deal in my opinion so I only posted it after I'd guaranteed my order. :)

Other phones are also available. I think this is the best on offer though. Click 'Playstation 3' under 'Gifts' on the left hand side to see more.

Others available -

LG Chocolate
Samsung E250, J600, J700 pink & E900
Nokia 6300, 6111& 7373
Sony Ericsson W300i & W200i

Don't forget Quidco (like me) is £37.50!

this is really weird , generally you get more out if you sign for 18 month contract but on there website for £30 400 min offer the price and min is same for both 18 and 12 month deal. ( they have cash back of £60 to compensates the price difference )
#2
If i was you I would have taken 400 min offer as the effective price is same basically
#3
Wasn't available when I ordered on Friday, but you're right it's a very good offer. The missus won't go over the 200 min/tect bundle anyway.

You can have it with either. I've linked to the J700 though.

The deal is also available on the following handsets:

LG Chocolate
Samsung E250 & E900
Nokia 6300, 6111& 7373
Sony Ericsson W300i & W200i

anyone knows how soon you'll receive the PS3 after you get the phone? is it something like 1 month later?
#10
Yes, it's usually a month later as long as they have it in stock. Seem to remember my 360 taking a week extra.
#11
Is it possible to transfer your current number with this o2 contract mobile?

thanks
#12
yes, but you need your pac code at the time you place your order. this is different to how they used to do it. fortunately i asked virgin nicely when i called them back and they produced the code whilst i was on the phone.

use cex.co.uk as a rough guide to which phone is worth the most.

just ordered the j700 as this looks like the only one on the 400min 500text with £60 cashback.
If I get £50 for the phone & £37.50 quidco, i wanted a ps3 and is worth £260. So... the contract has cost me around £15!! without the hassle of cashback returns!! :-D

heat and rep added. :thumbsup:

This isnt a cashback deal, £20 which is automatic, nothing else to claim.
#19
this isnt a cashback claim scheme. and have used onestop for cashback before and had 'minor' problems but received all what I was owed. Recommended.
#20
So tempted, i can sell off ps3 easily for £200 + £36.50 quidco + £20 cashback = (360-236.5 - 20) £103.50 or £8.25/month

I was tempted by autocashback from e2save of £280, Nokia 6300, 400 mins 500 text 12 months as well. Works out exactly the same, BUT more minutes but more risk of autocashback failure.

Help!!!!

I noticed when you go to 'buy' it shows you have to take out insurance which you get 1 month free but can then cancel and underneath that it mentions VIP Gadget Helpline FREE for 1 month (£2.99 a month thereafter) but I can't seem to find if you can cancel this. Anyone know if that's the case?

you can. just call to cancel when you receive your phone, and cancel the £2.99 direct debit

Is it possible to transfer your current number with this o2 contract mobile?

thanks

You won't be able to import your number to O2 if your existing number is already with O2. However, you can always transfer your number to another provider, say Orange, pay as you go and then transfer it back to your new O2 contract.

remember the picture in title is of a Sam' G800 - The J700 phone is far inferior to the E900 which is bad enough ..

J700 costs around £65 unlckd and PS3 is always losing value - is it a great bargain ?

That's not going to invalidate your claim for the gift is it? I know these phone companies are pretty crafty.

cheers for your help

no it shouldn't depend on insurance nor that VIP thingy. the cashback claim only depends specific timeframe (months), bills, and price plan (no downgrading of price plan!)...

to be honest i've ordered from twice OSPS before and the showed the VIP pack on my order summary but i never had to cancel nor got charged for it.

Also, you have a 7 or 14 day cooling off period where you can return everything (i think you should not use the phone etc) if you are not happy with your purchase..

Mmm tempting, very tempting.

yeah that's what i thought too. the advantage of this one is that it doesnt involve any cashback! (ie u send bills... wait... then bank cheque..)

alternatively could be worth ordering a 11months or 12mnths free contract + get quidco and an OK phone (involves cashback bit), then buy your PS3 from shopto for £260... i mean it depends if ur looking for a ps3 (might need to wait a bit to get it tho) or a cheap contract (sell ps3 + phone) and use minutes on a phone u already have...
#32
As an alternative to this the Car Phone Warehouse offered me an upgrade as my contract is ending soon
- no new phone but 400mins and 500 txt with O2
- get all money back in 3 lots
- pay £35 per month

Seemed alright for me - I didn't realise they did this for extensions. I was looking at quidco etc to save
#33
So can you unlock any of theses phones mentioned or which would be the easiest to unlock from o2?
#34
Does anyone know if OSPS accept Visa Electron cards?
#35
Excellent deal and on a similar note I used to use the brilliant energy4everyone website which listed and compared virtually all mobile phone deals out there. Always had the best deals but seems to have vanished - does anyone know a good alternative as I cannot find anything (you could search by handset, provider, free gift, monthly rental - anything and combinations and it listed all companies pretty much)... Thanks !

two quick questions.

I am new to quidco. Excuse my ignorence, but could someone give me a few basic steps on how to claim it on this. first time would be shame to lose such a big amount.

secondly. I am currently on 02. Do i still need to give my pac code to change numbers, or can 02 just do that when I call?
