Any reason to go through that link, rather than to giffgaff themselves? Who are lolagrove?

EDIT: Ah, lolagrove is the site affiliate schemes apply through. When I use topcashback (£1 for ordering SIM) I also end up there.

It's just a HUKD link, the company must use lolagrove as part of their advertising campaign

They "forgot" to include Asda's 4p tariff in their comparison table (Gaffgaff = 8p) :)

Maybe so but i think the point of this deal is the packages they have on offer & at asda you will get a lot less for the £10 than at giffgaff

Which network do they use?
The Unlimited Internet T&C are confusing.
I can not work out what you can use as part of the Unlimited Internet package.

Part of o2 but they offer true unlimited.

Go on their forum and people have used several gigs in a month.
#8
Don't suppose these work in a dongle?
#9
I used just under 4gb last month with giffgaff!

Their terms say they allow 24/7 video streaming and is truly unlimited. But you cannot use to tether (Or in an iPad) so I'm guessing that includes dongles

5.11. In addition to our standard terms and conditions, all usage must be for your private, personal and non-commercial purposes. You may not use your SIM Card:
a) In, or connected to, any other device including modems, dongles or any other way to connect to a PC;
b) fraudulently;
c) in such a way that adversely impacts the service to other giffgaff customers.
d) goodybags which include unlimited data browsing, allow continuous streaming of audio/video content

Is this like a simplicity thing where you actually buy the deal or you get the deal and keep the money you topped up?

I would like to know this too

You just buy the deal. When you buy a goodybag they take the £10 out of your credit.
#13
I know they say they can tell, but is it possible for them to discover if you're tethering?

I'm guessing if they see a Firefox/IE/Opera/etc user agent accessing the internet then yes.. But you can spoof to say represent a mobile browser, so I have no idea how they could tell. I guess you could try for 1 month and see what happens... :)

Think i will finally bump my o2 sim. spend £10 a month for unlimited texts,but now i have my san francisco, id like to use it more than just over wifi. :)

Isn't there a Tesco £10 tariff that is 500 mins, free texts and internet? Admittedly only 500Mb, but I've had a Milestone since the start of the year and have still only used 2Gb!

You mean Asda's 4p text and 8p call tariff? The same as GG - but GG has 100meg a day free net.

Or do you mean the 500 mins for twenty quid on Asda, that comes with unlimited texts data and 600 mins on GG.

I probably use less than 1GB a month as O2 signal around here is pants. I still tether from time to time and have "got away with it". I presume the rule is not to take the p***!

No changes to deals from previous posts about GiffGaff, so opting not to vote hot. GiffGaff is a decent network. I'm on the £30 Unlimited Everything package. So glad I don't have to pay £70 a month with Orange for the same plan, but with an iPhone. It isn't worth paying the extra £40 a month over 2 years!

Operators generally use the IMEI to determine which device you are using. There are other tell tale signs, due to the different ways radio parts operate. However, its only really done by IMEI right now, atleast when it comes to automated systems.

In the case of tethering this doesn't apply ofcourse. But they may investigate the top percentile of data users manually Generally this will happen when your usage impares the performance of the network. At this point there are so many tell tale signs even outside the radio part itself that they will invariably get you.

You can ofcourse try your luck. However, the charges outside bundles are so punitive, I would not recommend it at all if you have a contract SIM. And even when using PayGo, I would advise limiting the information they have (i.e. don't purchase vouchers by CC).

If your internet goes off and you ain't activated --- it's online activation only (eg if you wanted to use the gaff sim card for internt when yours is off) ..emergency etc) make sure you get a friend to do it before 10pm as thats when they switch off their server :lol . What a _____ company . Even worse as my friend with my credit card details put a tenner on (£10 goody bag) I had no use for the following day.

They be ofb soon
