Was thinking about moving from Virgin internet as its extremely expensive if you cant get cable, obviously for this deal most people will want to pay the extra for unlimited internet or more TV channels but the basic package costs around the same as Virgin but with the TV included.

Whats peoples thoughts of Sky's internet service etc? Does it sound like a good deal? Think you get free weekend calls too!

(PS you get a free £25 Mand S voucher too)

Not sure if you could get any quidco on this to cover the £30 one off cost?

Sky are a good company to deal with in my experience. Would recommend. Also their internet prices are very cheap.

Customer services always been very good when needed, unlike BT who have been unbelievably bad for years, and still are .

You think it would come under the sky+ subscriptions? If so £50 would be nice :)

Do they normally take a while to get the internet switched over? Ive heard from friends that it does

2GB download allowance on the broadband... ICE COLD FROM ME!

Could people say why they are saying cold? Is there better deals form different companies? Virgin are charging me about £36 for phone and internet alone!

Theres options to change it to unlimited, think its about £14 more or something like which I still think is cheap on the second page!

That's only cold for your usage..

I got the 2mb connection & 2gb download for the mother inlaw enabled on hers as all she does online is look at the news, internet banking and buy the odd item,

She this type deal would of been good...

You should be voting for the deal not if it fit's to your life style!

but then it isn't £20 per month, plus you still have to pay your line rental ontop of that

Well your nan doesn't fit the average demographic... average user uses 15GB a month (average user is a family, not an individual)

You need to remember you are getting fibre optic broadband which will always be that little bit more expensive than ADSL providers, because it is faster, more reliable and has an unlimited download allowance. I cannot comment on the phone package because i dont know what package you have

haha 15gb, I get about 400-600gb (yes GB) from my ISP per month

I consider this to be pretty average now considering the HD & Game content.

How people make do with a 2gb limit each month is beyond me, even browsing youtube for a few hours each day would tip you over the edge usage wise.

Sky Broadband is ok if you use it for normal internet use and downloading a few mp3's and odd movie but don't expect anything beyond that.

Edit : Jus to add you get what you pay for and £10 for unlimted internet isn't bad, but if your a serious user then look elsewhere like Bethere if your on a BT line or Virgin 20mb and above if your on cable

One more thing worth bearing in mind is that if you have your BT line moved over to sky and also move your broadband, sky will completely take over your landline, meaning that if you try to move ISP again you will have to go back to a 18month BT contract (trust me i've had this problem and it's a really big headache)

I have Sky with phone and BB. Service is better than other providers. I agree 2GB is too low these days, but come on guys this isn't cold, you can upgrade to unlimited for £7.50 more..

Exactly, I said in the opening sentence you would probably have to pay a bit more for a better package but it Still seems a good price. Nobody has mentioned a better deal yet

Cartoonhead, try not to encourage people to use bethere! I use them and it is excellent but I wouldn't want others on exchange. Go on be selfish....

Oh come on, it might be average for you but that's in no way average for everybody. 2GB would probably do for my Mum and Dad to read emails and an occasional webpage.

Me, I run my own video editing company from home. Sometimes I have to download video from client's FTP servers, anything from 100MB-2GB. I almost always have to upload finished videos to them for review, which tend to be ~100MB WMVs (it's all corporate stuff for marketing and presenting, not broadcast). I am also online with 2PCs most days, and play PS3 online when I have time. And I don't think I use much more than 20GB in a month.

For most people their usage would be even less as they wouldn't be dealing with the video that I do for work. So 400GB+ for HD and Game content - it's not for me to judge how you're reaching this (max of 8GB for a DVD, do you have the time to sit and watch 50 films a month? The few hours of YouTube browsing each day you mention would kill me) but don't call it average.

This is useful to know, though, am about to move house and am trying to find the best deals to set up in the new place. It's currently got TalkTalk for phone. Hoping BT don't charge us massively as a new line.
