Free Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S (White) - 12 month Vodafone contract, 300 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB data (unlimited data for first three months), 2GB BT OpenZone - potentially £19.83 a month (£238 for the year) @ Dialaphone £432.00
Sim free, this recently released phone retails for £339.99 at Play (best deal I could find); with this deal you could pay only £238 over the course of the twelve month contract.
Please note this is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S; it was released only a week or two ago and it's an update on the previous Xperia Arc model.
It got an amazing four and a half star review from TechRadar just three days ago, which you can find here: http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mobile-phones/sony-ericsson-xperia-arc-s-1033402/review
Also, while this is a redemption deal, which I know aren't too popular here, please read the deal first before casting your vote. I have stated the full price of £432 as I believe that's what you're meant to do with redemption deals?
The phone is free on a twelve month contract with Vodafone, with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data.
The stated price is £36 a month, however with redemption this takes it down to only £24 a month. I know people see "redemption" and turn around the other way, and that's fine, but honestly they give you TWO MONTHS to send in the required bills. Also, in your account with Dialaphone, it clearly states for you which bills need to be sent and when. It's simple and straight forward to follow. There's no excuse to not get the cashback.
There's also £50 in Quidco cashback, which takes this phone down to a monthly rate of £19.83.
Over the course of the twelve month contract that's only £238! The cheapest I can find this mobile on PAYG is £339.99 @ Play. A hundred pound less and you get all of that every month, and no up front cost.
I know it isn't dual core, etc., etc., but please read the reviews, especially the one at TechRadar, look at some YouTube videos to take a closer look at the phone and how utterly stunning it looks and see what you think.
Hopefully this deal is useful to some of you.
Thanks.
**If you click through to the link, simply change the contract length to twelve months in the search options and you'll see the deal. I can't link to it directly.""
**Redemption is now even easier and safer, thanks to this information from Gazzie:""
"Alternatively we will accept a screen shot of your online billing account attached to an email. Please forward to cc@dialaphone.com.
When sending in your redemption claims please ensure your personal details name, address and mobile number are showing on the mobile bill; these are required as this is how we verify your redemption claim all the details need to match the information we hold on our system. if you make any changes please update these on My Account via our website before you submit you redemption claim."

Jump to unread Post a CommentPlus, I worked it out, as I've been weighing up a number of phones, and there's a £440 difference over the course of the year between this phone and the 32GB iPhone 4S I was going to get from Tesco - and that's using a friends 10% staff discount! That's unbelievable.
Make sure you get your £50 quidco too!

In all seriousness, though, this website is just so weird and random sometimes. I mean, no way did your deal deserve to be minus 80 something, and while this has faired better, it should be a LOT hotter than 50 I reckon. It's a hundred quid less than the phone itself and you get a years worth of calls, texts, etc! Madness.
Thanks for your comment, anyhow.
Did you go for the phone in the end?
^thats for basic handsets.
I had a quick look at the (now old) arc and sgs2 today. the screens look very impressive! maybe too colourful but I'd love a screen that sharp and bright.
Just need to get my head round the redemption deal. Incidentally they said that they would be fulfilling the deal through Phones4U.
Looks like a super piece of kit - I used the Arc in the shop a few weeks ago and liked it very much. Surprised this isn't hotter.
The first thing I'm going to do when I get my new phone on Wednesday is add an alarm/reminder for each and every stage of the redemption process so that I don't forget. I've always been good in that regard and well organised, so I don't think I'll have any trouble. I just want to make sure. I can always drop you a PM each time it's due as well, just as a reminder, to both you and me! ;)
It really does look like a super piece of kit, though, as you say. Especially as it's £340 to buy sim free! I can't wait to get my hands on it.
I'm also very surprised this isn't hotter, but oh well. I'm not bothered about the heat, I just want to make this deal aware to people as I think it's a really good one.
Enjoy your new phone! Let me know how you get on with it :)

That would be cool if you would do that Winspiration as I have a head like a sieve! I have never done a redemption deal before but this was just too good to miss out on. So once again thanks for giving people the heads up.
I have just ordered some screen protectors off Ebay which should be here in a couple of days. Drop me a pm with your address and I will stick a few in the post to you.
Incidentally I will be wanting to root this phone so I can strip all the bloat off it and set it up as I want it. Where would be the best place to read up on doing that? Any ideas?

Thank you very much. That'd be great! I'll drop you a PM now :)
I've just been looking around on how to root this phone and I found this step by step guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1294564
I've got a headache just reading it, as most of it is way over my head, but pretty much everyone has said it works and it shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks for the link - will have a good read of that in the next day or two.
Have pm'ed you back :)
Looks like it is also covered by a 24 month warranty from SE as well.

This is the kind of thing I was looking for when making this thread, somewhere we can share info and help each other out.

I've seen a lot of pictures and watched a lot of videos regarding this phone, but still, I can't believe how thin and how light it is. It's super light. How they can cram so much into such a thing, I'll never know. I'm really, really pleased with it.
It's on charge at the moment and apparently it has to be switched off until it's all activated? But from what I've seen so far, it's great and easy to use, incredibly responsive, internet browsing is fast, the camera is amazing and the phone is just beautiful to look at and hold.
If you're reading this and you're on the fence regarding this phone, I say most definitely go for it! :)
Any questions or what you, feel free to post here or PM me, as some of you have already.
Not sure if anyone can help me with this question though - what are the chances that ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich), or Android 4.0 will come out for this phone, bearing in mind that it is not a dual core porcessor ? And if so, any estimate on how long it would take ?
Thanks

With the phone comes about twelve pieces of paper which details absolutely everything you need to know regarding the contract, including the dates and windows for each stage of the redemption offer.
For example, for the first stage (February 19th for me), the claim must be received by April 19th. For the second stage (April 19th), it must be received by June 19th, etc., etc. With a full two months to get the claim into them, you should have no worries, especially if you follow amuneer's advice.
Having said that, with only a 12 months contract it is very tempting.
Such a shame, as I think this is the best looking phone of the lot (including the newly announced Nexus Galaxy and the Droid Razr)....especially in white, it looks awesome.

Now for my question for the tech guys here. I flashed my Arc back to 2.3.2, rooted and updated to 2.3.3 OTA. I used the generic UK Rom, but my phone is saying the software is up to date - am I likely to receive the updates or will I need to reflash my Rom to go beyond 2.3.3?
Sensation has a dual core processor, while SE Arc S is single core. I have an Arc (with a slower processor than Arc S) and I found the browsing to be fast, and smooth. I never had any issues so far.
Sensation may be a tad better in browsing...But SE Arc S is no inferior in browsing, has a better battery and if you're looking for a better camera, and drop dead looks, just go for SE Arc S.
