What I like about this phone is

We got a lot of rain in UK. Now I am not worried to use this phone in the rain :)

Has someone rang p4u directly last time. The s2 deal came out they gave me the quidco money via cheque direct from p4u so i didn't need to go through quidco after 14 days the cheque arrived maybe a way of confirming quidco ?

Hot deal!
Pay the phone monthly and the contract is actually very usable too!
Couple it with free 0800 apps from android market, you wouldnt even need a landline or save money on landline calls!
#16
I would want this phone only because of the waterproof feature so they cant tell me its been "water damaged". Like nokia did with my 5800 or samsung with my s3. :| even though it was probably condensation from me breathing on a cold morning. Any trace of moisture and warranty is overrrrrr!!!

Am waiting on the S4 release and the HTC One reviews.

Xperia Z for all it's goodness, people are reporting less than great battery life. That's a concern for me and a bit of a delabreak :(
#18
This phone looks pretty sweet. I also just got a Note 2, but I reckon 5" screen might be easier for one handed use.

Any word on if the sony software has improved in recent years after the clunky earlier xperia efforts?

Cheers

Yeah that was my plan too, but since the pre-order incentive was quite good I decided not to wait. Yes Samsung is announcing the phone on 14th March but when is it actually getting released to the market? April, May or perhaps even June? Besides if you think Xperia Z has bad battery life what about HTC? It's battery is slightly smaller and it has that Sense UI that probably eats more resources too so again affecting the battery and from what reports/rumours are showing is that the S4 is knocking both these phones on benchmarks so to be expecting good battery life from a phone that is a beast is being slightly too optimistic.

Congratulations, your order has been successfully processed! We will email you again shortly to let you know that your new mobile phone package has been despatched from our warehouse.

about time, just waiting for quidco to track now. Not fully sure if it will as the sales rep on the phone said they had to re-process the order due to a credit check.

@PraxxtorCruel, also a 12 month contract you can just change / upgrade in 1 year and sell the old phone if you're inclined

Been playing around with the phone and its great.

The camera is brilliant. All reports to say its not that great seem a bit harsh as my other half has an iphone 5 and the pictures on the Z are much much better.

And the only other downfall that reviews were saying is issues with the angleing and looking at the phone at different view points. Well for 1 you dont look at a phone not face on and 2 even when you do tilt the phone there isnt much difference in quality at all.

Battery i cant really comment on yet but i have been playng around with it for a couple of hours and its at 85%. Obviously i wouldnt be playing round with it all the time but i have had worse battery in phones in the past.

So far i really like it and i paid £26 a month with no upfront costs and a pair of £150+ headphones, i think i have got a top quality phone for a brilliant price.

Thats always an issue with all high end phones. You can burn the batteries very very quickly if really try.

Whats worse is that LTE/4G drains your battery faster.

If the S4 battery is anything like the S3 one, it'll be better.

I found a better deal from Vodafone.

I asked for my PAC code and Vodafone phoned me back 3 hours later with.
Sony Xperia Z (black)
Unlimited Minutes
Unlimited Texts
2Gb data

At half price from £42/month down to £21/month for 2 years.

It's always worth asking for your PAC code anyway as you don't have to use it!

Happy Days!!

I will keep the Z till the HTC One and S4 reviews start coming through.
May switch to the HTC but i fear the S4 will be another Fisher Price build again.

used this phone today at work.Very good looking handset and i can confirm we dunked it in a bowl of water and yep it was fine. Two things i didnt like. The speaker is terrible on it and very low volume output. Also when it rings if your right handed the speaker is placed at the bottom of the phone so you muffle the volume. The speaker should of been put at the base of the handset as theres nothing there.Apart from that its a great piece of kit.

The mic and speakers get muffled when you dunk it underwater. It takes a while to normalize annoyingly.

@MRP noticed that myself.Takes a while to dry out and the sound retores but the volume level is very low even before its been for a swim.Bot of a let down for me as theres nothing worse then a phone in your pocket you cant hear.Got the mdr1 headphones with it and as far as sound quality goes its decent enough and a plus point is they dont have chavvy beats plastered all over them.In all its a stunning phone but the volume level annoys the hell out of me.Still worth a buy.

So fancied this tell someone mentioned the HTC One and I checked it out, im waiting. Good deal though if you're into this phone, hot

If the sound level is anything like the S2 it will do me just fine. I mean the phone is only 7.9mm think the HTC One is 9.9mm thick, can't really fit much of a speaker in with the rest of the components heh.
#39
the s2 is louder as ive had that. The xperia z reminds me of my old htc desire hd terrible.Amazing how they can make such a nice phone and they miss out on a simple thing like that. Its not iphone level or note 2.Im.not saying dont buy i just think the sound quality is a let down.Get a pair of headphones on and it sounds nice.Event switched the sound enhancements on and it was still bad. Also very finger print happy lol

I don't think the speaker is that bad, it helpsif you switch xLoud on
