Vodafone offered me the same deal as an upgrade but I would have to pay £199 (instead of £0) and I would not get the £60 speaker. So I am thinking to cancel my contract when it ends next month and to get a new one. I was also thinking about getting the PAC code when I cancel and then porting my old Vodafone number to my new vodafone contract. Has anyone done this? Is it possible? Even if not, worst case scenario is that I have a new number and £260 in my pocket. It seems like an awesome deal to me. Enjoy!

Buying all those items separately will work out much cheaper-don't be swayed by the freebies. Think you could do better personally, but it may be for you if you only want to be tied in for 12 months. Haven't voted either way.

In terms of porting your number across, I've done that before to the same network, so you shouldn't have an issue.

Good luck if you go for it!

Thanks for the info on porting the numbers! As to the buying the items separately I am not so sure to be honest. Just a quick estimate: The phone I think is about £450, Spotify (which I am after) is at £10/month, let's say you could get the speaker for £40 so that's roughly £610 which leaves £92/year or £7.67/month for a 4g unlimited texts, sms and 7GB deal. It seems like a sweet deal to me. If this can be beaten please paste the links.

Xperia Z2 + Speaker = £439 http://www.clove.co.uk/sony-xperia-z2
Chromecast = £30 http://www.google.com/intl/en_uk/chrome/devices/chromecast/#cc-apps
6 months entertainment pack (its not a year anymore), most expensive is Spotify = £59.94

Total £528.94

Leaves you £14.42 a month for the SIM only contract. As long as you can find a contract you like for less than that price, then yes you're better off.

They're a pretty big name for electronics, used them before.

As opposed to Mobile Phones Direct, which is a very generic sounding third party phone contract seller, most of whom are problematic at best.

Got my last phone from MPD last week. Ordered on Monday delivered on Tue. First Class service. I went through TCB for an extra £30+.
