Look at camcorders in Currys earlier today and saw this offer which is valid until 7 May.

Buy any Sony Handycam camcorder (Mini DV, DVD or HDD) and claim for a free spare battery (worth £49.00) and carry case (worth £20.00). Now I accept that you can probaly get cheaper generic parts, but these are genuine Sony accesories! I was looking at a camcorder at £189.00, so the savings would be pretty substantial.

The offer is available on the currys website and in store and as long as it is from a genuine UK supplier it should be valid.

Anyway, this is my first "deal" and I think its pretty good.

Thanks OP. This is an excellent deal and you can make it even better by buying the latest model; Sony HC37, from Currys. But you have to buy it on phone and requesting a price match on this camcorder.

Curry price : £229.89

Cameras2u price : £189.75

Here's how to do it :

At Currys, we’re confident we won’t be beaten on price and check 50,000* prices daily to ensure you get the best possible deal. *Price match powered by : PRICERUNNER

For reserve & collect items, we match:
Argos Comet PCWorld Woolworths

For all other products we match:

247 Electrical Amazon Argos
B&Q Cameras2U Comet Co-Op Electrical Shop

This way you will get the new model for the price of the old one, and then you can claim the free battery and case from Sony as well.

I've have ordered one myself.

Why just not get it from Dixons like i suggested, its £185.76 from there !!!!, and you get Quidco as well and 10% cashback if paying with Egg card

Fair point deanos, i didn't know they did HC37 at 185.76. Good spot.

Isn't it funny? Dixons and Currys are part of the same company and yet there is a difference of almost £45 for the same item!!

If you go through Quidco for 3% back will Egg still give you 10% cashback, I thought you had to go to dixons from the link in the Egg website, or doesn't it matter?

someone on another post rekoned you can get both, at your own risk i suppose

Dixons are getting very competitive of late, some of the best prices around. Guess they finally twigged people do compare and it's pointless having 3 sites all replicating the same products and prices.

I would never buy from dsg group again i just hope nothing goes wrong with it.

You have to go through the Egg portal to get the 10%.

So i can see no way of getting both Egg 10% and Quidco cashback,in the past I`ve tried putting it in my basket with Egg then going through Quidco to find it still in my basket but had the cashback declined.
