Following the success of the Free Bag for Life Giveaway held as part of the Make the difference Days Sainsburys will be giving away free toilet rolls on WEDNESDAY 27th JUNE 2007 in every Sainsburys store (be it Local, Central or big supermarket - even the petrol stations are giving coupons to claim it in a big store). Also available on-line if your shopping is been delivered on the 27 June 2007.

We will be giving customers a FREE twin pack of Sainsburys Super Soft Forest Stewardship Council accredited toilet paper to raise awareness of this move in the hope that our customers will then switch to using FSC accredited toilet rolls every time they shop.

Its nothing to go mad about as it is not worth a lot but if your in-store make sure you pick up your free pack as its decent stuff - not like Poundland Toilet. Plus its all in a very good cause.

Oh and don't worry if they run out as you'll be given a coupon to claim next time your in-store (coupon valid for 3 weeks).

For anyone who has any questions i think they will all be answered here.

What are Make The Difference Days?
Make The Difference Days try to make it easier for you to make a positive difference on a range of important issues. It’s our way of working with million of customers to bring about real environmental and lifestyle changes. If we all act together we can really make the difference.

Are you going to do this regularly?
We have a Make The Difference Day every month. Each month will see us focus on an environmental issue. This month we will be highlighting the importance of sourcing paper products from sustainable sources so you can make an informed choice.

Why are you giving away free toilet rolls?
The state of the world’s forests is a major concern for us all and we believe we are leading the way in sourcing our paper products in a sustainable way. All of our own brand toilet roll, kitchen roll and tissues are now sourced from sustainable sources (either recycled or from Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) approved forests.
We will be giving customers a free twin pack of Sainsbury’s Super Soft FSC accredited toilet paper to raise awareness of this move in the hope that our customers will then switch to using FSC accredited toilet rolls every time they shop.

What is FSC?
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international network promoting the responsible management of the world’s forests. The FSC carefully balances the environmental, social and economic interests, to create the best outcome for people and our planet.

Is this toilet roll made in the UK?
The toilet roll is made in the UK. The paper is converted in the UK using modern plants working to optimum energy efficiencies and water treatment.

What is the packaging made out of?
It is printed polyethylene film, which is recyclable.

Are the leaflets and other advertising for this event on FSC paper?
All the leaflets / vouchers and POS are on FSC paper except the Car park poster – this is on recycled paper.

I didn’t shop on the day; can I still pick up my free toilet roll?
Sorry, no – this offer is only valid for the day – unless we have run out of toilet rolls and you have a voucher – this will be valid for only 3 weeks.

Surely you’ve used vehicles to transport this extra stock for this event?
We have reduced the number of journeys by delivering these extra products direct from the supplier.

Can I have another type of toilet roll free instead?
Sorry, no, we've chosen this product because it is from sustainable sources.

Is there a minimum spend?
Yes, there is a minimum spend of £3 with certain exclusions: prescription medicine, infant formula (legal), national lottery, scratch cards, stamps, e-top up, phone cards, petrol, gift tokens and cigarettes (legal).

Are there any exclusions?
Yes, prescription medicine, infant formula (legal), national lottery, scratch cards, stamps, e-top up, phone cards, petrol, gift tokens and cigarettes (legal).

Can I participate if I shop online?
Yes, all online customers that receive deliveries on Wednesday 27 June 2007 will receive the free 2-pack FSC toilet roll.

I’m a fast track customer – do I get free toilet roll
Yes, simply present your receipt to the colleague handing out the toilet roll.

Are you doing this in your smaller stores (Locals, Centrals, Bells & Jacksons)?
Yes, we will be giving out this product at our Locals, Centrals, Bells, Jacksons stores, if we run out you will receive a voucher redeemable at our larger stores.

Is there a limit to one per customer/transaction?
We would like to give customers a chance to see how good FSC paper is and to switch into using it. We've to limit how many we give out as this is just a sample and two come in a pack.

Why are Sainsbury’s petrol station excluded?
Due to the size of the petrol stations and health and safety we are unable to give away from our petrol station. If you’ve spent more than £3 on non-excluded items you are more than welcome to visit the main store to redeem.

Why couldn’t I get my toilet roll at a local store?
Due to the size of many of our local stores we are unable to provide the volume of toilet roll for all customers. To ensure all of our customers can benefit from the giveaway we are providing vouchers so customers can visit a supermarket.

The toilet roll is still paper, what effect does this have on the environment?
We are encouraging consumers to switch into an FSC product through product trial.

Will I get a refund on the toilet roll I bought previously?
This offer only applies on the 27 June 2007. No refund will be given for toilet rolls you have bought previously.

I would like to purchase a toilet roll as well as receive a free pack?
All other multiples of pack sizes will be available from the shelf in the toilet rolls aisle. If you wish to buy a twin pack super soft, although these will not be in the aisle please ask at the customer services desk and they will be able to provide you with a pack to purchase.

Can I get more that one pack of toilet roll if I do multiple shops per day?
This offer is valid for one pack per customer.

What about other paper products in store are these FSC? Are they recyclable?

The autumn/ winter products will include recycled notebooks 2008 all Garden furniture will all be FSC. We have a recycled range called ‘Revive’. This includes Revive notepads, and bin bags. All Own labelled household tissue products are either FSC or have been recycled.
