Apple Keyboard with numeric keypad - British priced £29 at Apple

Free with any iMac (maybe with other Apple computers - not laptops)

After my purchase of a new Apple iMac in store not online I advised that I need a numeric pad and the sales advisor picked up one of these at said you need this but its not wireless, I said thats ok I will take it.

At the till he said when you buy online you have this as an option but we are not allowed to open the box so you get it for FREE, he led me to believe that this is store policy so why not pick one up if your going to get an iMac.

How could it be free? Not only it is not free but overpriced as well like everything else that is Apple.
Come on, do not buy from the bad and boring Microsoft because Bill is going to become rich and this is not acceptable… for some reason. Buy from the cool Apple and pay 3 times more the normal price… so they can become rich and you poor… which is fine.

why add an your opinion you will never afford a mac but they are popular, probaly as they are more secure than a PC.
The fact is this is up just as a added bonus to anyone who is about to purchase a iMac.
I dont see how it could be cold.

next time i wont bother to add, its a shame that some users have to spoil it - Im not interest in gardening but i dont coment on it

Doh!

Almost every computer comes with a free keyboard and mouse. My shopping came with a free carrier bag yesterday. Think I'll make a post about Sainsburys giving out free carrier bags!

A. If you still live in a world where Macs are more secure than PCs, that there are not viruses, Trojans for Macs etc. then I think you missed some episodes in the world of technology.
B. If you live in a world where the only reason me or anybody else would not have a Mac is that he can not afford it then this it is a pity.

I am afraid that iphone is not the only smartphone anymore (it was not the first anyway), macs do not have cutting edge technology anymore (instead they are quite old fashioned and the specs are pretty low), computers like HP and sony have the same (if not better) style and quality of materials and they still cost the 1/3 of the price, the reason that ipods cost £100 and not £20 (like the equal product from Phillips) is only because guys like you pay for this price etc.

However, all these do not matter and I totally agree with your philosophy that this site is about saving and people should not vote based on their preferences. But my cold vote was not based on the above. I did not vote cold in any Apple post before. The cold vote is based on the fact that this is a saving site and you post that you got a keyboard for your desktop (a desktop that costs three times what would be average price for it) and you are happy that you did not pay for the keyboard and you encourage me to do the same. On the other hand if you were able to process this you would not enter in an Apple store anyway.

PS
Regarding the ‘bonus’ term: bonus and mac do not go together.
Regarding the ‘some users’ term: by looking at the voting it seems that it is not some users only.

give me a grand and I shall give you a totally free keyboard worth £29 too
#14
Apple make good products but in my opinion (and it is just my opinion) are over priced for what they are. Nearly all computers come with keyboards and for apple to :-

A) suggest that this being free is a 'bonus'
B) Charge an extoritiante price to those who are daft enough to pay it.

tells you exactly why I dont buy their computers and I suspect this why its so dam cold in here

I think ezypc and my self are the only ones that have voted hot for this!
I'm getting on the dog to them tomorrow morning to see what the rass-clut is going on, and why I didn't get this lovely thing offered to me.
#20
First time buyer will feel like they are paying for the keyboard anyway since they'll be spending nearly a grand just to buy a mac which is apparently safe and easy to use. I doubt anyone in this thread will be god smacked by this fre....bonus item you get with a purchase.

"MAN I GOT TO GET MYSELF THESE KEYBOARD!!! I GET IT FREE WITH A MAC!...wait I don't have a grand..."
#21
I've found a better deal. Buy the keyboard for a grand. Apparently they give you a free Mac with it! Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaargain!!

The Mac isn't more secure - it is targetted less by malware writers. It is just as vulnerable as a PC - write a self-encrypted executable and it can compromise any computer, whether it is running Windows, Snow Leopard or another form of Linux. PCs are the de facto standard for industry and businesses which is why there are more viruses for PCs (but no less secure). Furthermore, more virus coders own PCs too. The Mac's OS is most certainly not more secure by any means.

Finally some common sense thanks to EliottC… and as an extension antivirus companies and products are less prepared to deal with Mac viruses and the companies that produce security software possess significantly less experience and expertise in developing this category of products. Once again these are just for reference and do have to do with the deal.

Regarding the deal and the buying a Mac… with free keyboard… Ezypc, I can not understand what is wrong with you… you are going to expire it and post it again…??? Can not you get it?? … why do not you do a favour to yourself… and I am not trying to offend you, I seriously mean what I am saying… you are still under the cooling period and you can give it back I guess and ask for a refund. You have seen the reaction of the people here. They can not be wrong all of them. Everybody wants to be different but it is important how you become different. You can become different even by throwing yourself out of the window but this does not mean that you would do a clever thing. Put everything back in the i-box get it back to the store and ask for a refund. If they ask you why tell them ‘you know why’. Take your money and leave. You are just buying a product at the end of the curve at the price that it was trading at the peak of the curve. Just open your eyes and see the options around.

Regarding Plate_Smasher’s post… ‘to see why I didn't get this lovely thing’
for you it is too late, there is no cure at this stage I am afraid.

iGiveup - the purchase was not for me I have a PC intel extreme 6gb ram 6tb running Windows 7 32bit, 64bit, Mac osx, LInux and am more than aware of the choices out there considering thats my trade. I purchased the system a 27" iMac Intel i7 for a client on their request. I wanted a keyboard for my PC as I use the mac side of my PC for all design work I do and was willing to purchase but got it free. So I thought there might be others who might be interested in getting an extra keyboard for nought - I dont understand the issue. Quite simply if you are not going to enter an apple store nor consider the purchase of any of there computers then this thread wont concern you.

Listen carefully because this is going to be my last attempt. You keep saying you do not understand what the issue is:

IF THERE WOULD BE A WORLD WHERE THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE THAT BUY BRICKS FOR £1500 AND YOU FOUND A WAY THAT YOU CAN HAVE THE BRICK FOR £1500 PLUS A SMALL BRICK FREE THEN THIS IS COLD AND YOU CAN NOT SAY TO THE PEOPLE VOTE ONLY IF YOU WANTED TO BUY A BRICK FOR £1500 . THIS SITE IS ABOUT DEALS AND THEIR EVALUATION, NOT ABOUT SPEND RUBBISH AS LONG AS YOU SPEND LESS THAN WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SPENT FOR RUBBISH. IT IS NOT PRICE COMPARISON MONEYSUPERMARKET.COM. YOU DO NOT HAVE A DEAL TO POST HERE APART THAT YOU PAID £1500 FOR A BRICK AND YOU COME WITH SAYING LOOK MANY PEOPLE BUY BRICKS FOR £1500 SO IT IS FINE. IT WOULD BE DIFFERENT IF YOU WERE POSTING THAT YOU GET THE SMALL BRICK FOR FREE ALONE... STILL USELESS IN MY OPINION BUT I WOULD NOT VOTE COLD.

Guys, give him a break. I think he lost his sleep since he started this post. He even went to one of my previous post and commented on it. The post was idle for weeks and somehow it got 5 cold votes yesterday. Leave him alone. I am sdure that he never bought a Mac for a customer, he definitely does not own a PC and I am pretty sure that he will think about it twice the next time he is about to buy a keyboard for £1500. Let him find his sleep again.
