First post on deals so have searched for this and found nothing so apologies if posted previously.

I recently went to the Tower Of London and before going asked if there were any deals anyone knew about - there were a couple but nothing special.

When i arrived at the palace i was asked if i wanted to gift aid my donation (the ticket price is considered a donation) and when i responded yes they gave me a little ticket that gives me free entrance to all the Historic Royal Palaces for 12 Months. I know you have to pay one to get this but if you plan to visit all the palaces this is a fantastic deal and well done to HRP for doing this.

Enjoy

I was going to post the same about Windsor Castle which we visited last week. Excellent deal. Heat and rep added!

Warwick Castle was for EVERYONE not just for UK taxpayers.

Was there any offers for kids - do they get a free card when you buy a ticket?

On the HRP website a family annual ticket is between £55 and £75 if you sign up for direct debit and it is valid for 15 months.

Unforunately not - you have to be a uk tax payer (income tax e.t.c) to recieve this deal

Unfortunately not - you have to be a uk tax payer (income tax etc) to receive this deal

Gift Aid works on the basis of being a UK Resident (cos you will be taxed regardless, Income Tax, VAT, Petrol, Ciggies, etc) or an employed overseas one & allows the charity to get another 28% on your 'donation'.

So this deal applies to all except tourists - and how many of these are on HUKD?

Happy to be corrected...

--------------

I went Warwick castle last BH and got nothing (though got in for £0 too!). Might go Windsor as its round the corner from work...

Thanks for tips all...

Well I am suppose to be a UK tax payer but I have never paid a penny in income tax in my working life (30 years). :whistling: I do however pay tax on my fuel and road tax so does that mean I will be eligable?

Unfortunately yes hense why its in deals not freebies, to be fair the £16 (i think) entrance fee is more than worth it and any of these palaces are worth more than one visit.

Are you sure it entitles you to entry to ANY palace? I went to Windsor castle a few weeks ago and was asked if I am tax payer (which I am), so was able to fill out a form, and get my ticket stamped, which I could then reproduce any time in the next 12 months to get free entry to Windsor Castle again. Don't know if I would ever want to go back twice in the one year, but it matters not anyway, as the stamp they gave me smudged completely off my glossy ticket. I don't think they would accept a smudge of blue ink as an official stamp.

The Banqueting House is only £4.50 admission so I assume that you are better off making this your first visit and doing the deal on this price.:)

You must have paid enough income or capital gains tax to cover the amount of tax the charity will reclaim.

Happy to correct you
