Hi!!!
If you are one of the virgin mobile payg customers, then you can unlock your phone by giving a call to their call centre and ask them to give you a code. The only catch in this deal is you have to top-up your phone by £30 or more. Customer assistant will explain this to you. If you already have got balance in your account then don' t hesitate and give them a call that you need to use some other sim on the handset. They will send you a code by post within 7 days or if you can't wait that long, give them a call the nexy day after asking for code.
Hope this will help all Virgin Mobile Phones customers.

Its a good deal as it is ligitimate

I think this a legal requirement by all mobile providers, certainly not new or a deal.

they've always done this

i dont understand why though as it's giving away their buisness from you?

Like I said, a legal requirement once you've spent £30 on calls, (PAYG) they are legally obliged to unlock the phone if you request it. Needles to say, they dont shout it from the roof tops!!

I am on an Orange contract and have a Samsung Tocco that needs unlocking. Even though I have been with Orange for years they say a period of three weeks must pass before they can unlock it. Can I get a code from the manufacturer and if not, where is the best place to go????

I've just phoned Virgin Mobile today & tried this - doesn't work - they changed this last year, you now have to pay them £15 for an unlock code, regardless of how much you have toped-up.

I made a mistake, although I am tied into an 18month contract, Orange will not give me an unlocking code for three months
