Why the cold voting?, really gets on my nerves. Don't like being an unpaid "employee" and still effectively getting shouted at for doing a bad job. Try putting a 3.5" external hard drive in your pocket, along with the power cable.
#5
Good point Bingsy. voting cold and there are still no comments. reason for cold vote is surley a better deal somewhere else and if so...POST IT...ya cant just vote cold your missin the point of the site.
#6
Seems like a damn good deal to me.
#7
As a comparison, Dabs are currently selling a similar Freecom 40Gb external drive for £44.95 + P&P.
#8
I think this price is quite good actually.
However, I do not need such drive as three weeks ago I bought Trekstor PocketDrive 40GB in German supermarket (Real Koblenz) for 25 EUR :)

This is a good price - I voted it hot :)
#10
Thanks for the pointer :) Nice price for 60Gb USB powered portable hard drive!
#11
I paid £70 for this a year ago and its been very reliable and is in a very sturdy and small case (smaller than the western digital passport drives). I've had no problems using this on several laptops and PCs using usb 1 and 2.

I just don't get cold voting. Not just for me, for anyone. Who benefits?

I'm not suggesting that everyone should neccessarily always vote hot, that would be crazy. Show some respect though please. Personally, if I don't think an offer is a bargain, I don't vote. If I know of somewhere cheaper or a better alternative I'll mention it. The courteous thing would be to not vote.

Don't people realise that voting cold puts people off posting. New people will just not bother in the first place.

What goes around comes around. We'll all miss out if someone knows of a bargain and doesn't post it for fear of -ve, veiled feedback.

Don't feel obliged to vote my deal hot for the sake of it. I don't want that. Thanks.

hi i picked one of these up second hand a few weeks ago and its a fantastic piece of kit

If offer is about something, which is interesting to me, I always vote. But if price isn't good then I vote cold and state the reason for it.

I understand that people might take it personally but the reason 'voting gauge' is here is to let people know whether offer is good or bad. For example if I would post something like this: "Freecom 60GB pocket drive - only 199.99!!! BARGAIN!!!!!!" then temperature on this will go below absolute zero. Do you think it deserves 'hot' voting?

Great spot, great price.

I have a laptop. The reason I have a laptop is because I need something portable. So, obviously any external storage would also need to be portable.

While the 3.5" drives do store 5 times more for not much more than twice the price, carting around a big brick with PSU in my laptop bag then trying to find somewhere to plug it in just makes NO sense.
#16
Was just about to buy then i saw the delivery cost, and being me canned it, ill maybe see if i need anything else of the site before ordering .. . damn p&p . .

I think if you believe it's not a good price you should be offering the same item at a cheaper price or a better alternative.

The voting bar shouldn't be able to go into the red as it were. In my opinion cold should be zero and hot 100 degrees +. Zero is cold enough. As I mentioned previously, voting into the red benefits no-one.
#18
I believe that if someone got reason to vote cold then he/she should state it. As to price searching, if thread starter didn't bother to check prices and rushed to post, then he should do his homework first.

maybe a 7 port USB hub and 7x 8GB flash drives, LOL.

Seems like a good price to me for a small 60GB external hard drive in case that doesn't require a power supply. Plenty of people might be feeling the squeeze on their laptop, but also need the space when travelling, and this is a good possible solution (less hassle than buying a new hard drive and installing it internally inside the laptop - also you'd have to go for a 100GB+ drive there as you'd be replacing the current drive, instead of just adding capacity to your existing internal hard drive).

Such as drives that don't break as much, this doesn't survive a journey home in my shirt pocket!

Nice find at a great price. Just so people know. This drive uses 2 USB ports on your computer. 1 for power and 1 for data transfer. I wish you just needed 1 USB cable that could handle both. It's a pain losing 2 USB ports and having to carry 2 cables (not a big pain but a pain none the less). Does anyone know if you can get these drives that only use 1 port on your computer?

Thanks, voted hot.

Thats only if you are using it on non powered USB ports, such as ones on the front of the computer case.

Good price, have got the 120GB WD one from Amazon though. Can never have too much storage.
#28
hi robflate , the second hand one i purchased has some sort of usb splitter cable and runs on one usb slot

It'll only put off people who post bargains simply to get hot votes! I don't understand what the big deal is, it's not like you're going to get a trophy or medal sent to you in the mail!
For every bargain there will be people who find it useful and people who don't, I wouldn't get hung up on the voting to be honest it's like saying "hay look at me people, I got lots of hot votes" - who cares!
#31
Ordered for someone at work, cheers OP.
#32
Rotational Speed 4200rpm, it's too slow. I think the cache will be also small, only 2MB.
This would be better http://www.hotukdeals.com/deal/22783/samsung-120gb-2-5-laptop-hard-drive It just needs a encloser, but they are cheap.

Now OOS - but did anyone else get 80gb units instead of 60gb? :p
