Why is it so cheap????

£5.58 including VAT, not to mention postage. Post needs updating with correct price, cos it's still a good deal.
#3
when you say went back to normal price - what was the normal price?

does anyone trust this company I've not used them before?
#4
They must have a lot on hand after the ,000s they sold yesterday. All but a few to a single HUKD member/Thiefbayer, if I recall. :whistling:

Nope, and someone had an email saying it was a misprint, To view the other thread: http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=279498&page=21

I do not think that they will send any of the orders... Since they have reduced the price back down again, it looks like they found a way to advertise free by this misprice game!!! It is a case for trading standards....

trying to get it loaded but looks like everyone is going to this link, MY POOR LAPTOP CANT COPE *weeps in the corner*

#11
yeah someone got email saying they wont honour it but yet others are reporting they took money and too much money at that

def worried about my card details glad i used a card that was almost maxxed haha
#12
Need to judge by last post and obviously this doesnt sound right.
#13
I've used this company/website several times over the last 7 or 8 years. Never had a problem before.

A friend from here ordered this yesterday - I called him to say the offer was back on, and he said the full amount had been debited from his account, and also received an email with expected delivery 4-6 weeks as out of stock.

He called them to request a refund, and threated Trading Standards/Consumer Direct, but some Team Leader just advised that it was a misprint, and people make mistakes!

He asked why they took the money when out of stock and item could not be dispatched and they said it was an error on their behalf - would he like to wait 4-6 weeks and get item at full price, or have the refund. He took the refund back.

So....possibly is a sales technique to get people on the site - robbing them right on top of Christmas :santa: Why even amend the price again when it won't be honoured???

I would not trust them after mates experience!
#15
Something fishy going on here. How can they claim to make the same mistake twice, and lets not kid ourselves, anyone who orders this will not get their drive... so IMO, this company are up to something.

Hope those who ordered paid with a credit card...
#16
i ordered last night and paid with a credit card ive only had one email to say my order has been placed i hope they dont take the full amount as it will make me go over my credit limit very worried now grrrr
#17
Definately a scam.. its either a thing where they want hits on the website or its just a way to get everyones credit card information... beware.. i am going to cancel my card now, which i used to purchase 2 from the last price @ £5.50 odd

I don't think they are likely to take your details as it seems to be a proper business website.

You's have me all worried now lol

If you have used a credit card your guaranteed against - fraud or more money debited than agreed
#23
As they say '... if its too good to be true, it usually is'. If you google this company, there are literally hundreds of complaints. I'm steering well clear of this one. If you have been charged the full amount without your authority, let your credit card company know. They MUST immediately apply a credit on your account whilst they investigate. If you paid by debit card, notify the card issuer. You CAN get refunded the full amount by the chargeback scheme (they may deny knowing anything about this scheme but take no 'vulsheet' from them. Remember, if the wrong amount is disputed, it is the suppliers responsibility to prove you agreed this amount (which they would not be able to do).

along the lines what did you say as i dont know what to say to my bank when i ring them
#25
One of the shadyist retailers I've ever had the misfortune to come across. A misprice 2 days in a row just to get site visitors is far from beyond them.

Good luck geting your money back from them...I forsee many wasted hours on the phone trying to speak the their "customer services dept" (I say that very loosely)
#26
i just said i lost my card yesterday... luckily i didnt order till this morning and as of 1hr ago.. no funds were taken from me balance... so i confirmed the last transaction made and then she cancelled.... nice and easy
#27
just got 2 for just under 20 quid so its not expired
#28
the elderly man across the way has just ordered 2 of these for his sons computers for xmas .what should i tell him as he used a normal debit card
#30
id suggest telling him to ring his bank and cancel any pending transactions... something fishys going on and we wont know now till tomorrow.... as the people who ordered, ordered next day delivery....
[helper]#31
"Normally in Stock" .....normally - what does that even mean?! Normally, unless we put a product to a stupidly cheap price so 1000s are ordered and then we don't have any to sell..... This all seems very dubious to me
#32
TBF It does say Normally in stock which would suggest... not in stock / on order with our suppliers.
#33
Why are people still ordering this lol...?
#34
high five!
Why are people still ordering this lol...?

Because they clearly dont realise they are not getting them, and they want to hand over there card details and get charged for something they wont get, then they will moan when it takes 30 days for a refund.
#35
Dont buy! Unless you want to be robbed - people bought them last night and have had there money taken, which was more than stated! (someone 30% more) look at thread - http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3520484&posted=1#post3520484

I would think the company director knows they are going under, and is trying a swift "lets get as much money in as possible so i can do a runner" job. He knows that statistically some of the hundreds of if not thousands of people that order wont bother chasing this up.
#37
It is definately a real company as i used to work there. Really poor in all aspects though.

I would not worry too much about no getting refunds however.

I suggest you change this http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/product.aspx?code=HEF-HDC500U before Trading Standards have words with you.

Freecom Hard Drive Classic 500GB External USB2.0 £5.58 inc VAT, I think not, this is twice you’ve done this in a few days. You don’t even have any anyway!! All it does it put people off, see HUKD http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/280076/freecom-hard-drive-classic-500gb-ex/

This is the "innocent" reply I got back from them.
