PLEASE NOTE: This is a POCKET sized Portable Hard Drive

The Freecom 250Gb Toughdrive 2.5" Hard Disk Drive with a rubber enclosure is shock resistant and USB powered. This hard disk drive has a rotational speed of 5400rpm and comes with Freecom personal media software.

I have been using the 160GB version for over a year. I send it through the post every week and it has been 100% reliable.

Next best price I have found is at Amazon £84.82 but the rest are around £100.

Use Voucher code TDX-CLHD for additional £5.00 off

Limited stock so hurry

Probably another case of people not realising this is a POCKET sized disk, not a lumbering great 3.5inch job that needs an external powersupply.

This is the best price I've seen for the excellent 250GB toughdrive I've seen.

Thanks for pointing this out Gazbert. I have edited to show this

They are good drives but don't forget you need TWO usb ports for them which must be directly connected to the mb or you've got to use a powered hub - just something to bear in mind if your planning to use it with a laptop!

er no, depends on what laptop you have.
Generally new laptops with USB 2 ports will work with only one cable. Older USB1 and early USB2 chipsets don't output enough power for these drives. Don't have the facts to hand - google should provide - basically if you have laptop upto 18mth old I would say it will work fine with 1 connection.

I am using one currently on a Fujitsu-Siemens S series - approx 12-18mth old model.

You'd struggle using two USB ports on the Toughdrive. It's USB cable is built-in to the rubberized casing. We use em for work and never had a problem. They're extremely hard wearing.

Toshiba 250GB portable for £70 delivered at Ebuyer.

Freecom Toughdrives are the daddy, never had a problem with only 1 USB port on many machines, our company dishes them out to us server engineers and work great on all types of hardware. This is good value...

for anyone who works on actual value as opposed to bare price, this is a hot deal if you live near a tesco where you can collect and use the £5 off voucher. Key thing about it is that it is proven toughened portable unit, widely used in business and industry, that only needs a single usb connection, unlike the toshiba model quoted above. I've just purchased one for £74.97 and hopefully a couple more pounds off with quidco. Heat n rep given
