Wanted to find out more about freesat and have been looking on the website, if you have a sky dish would u need to get another freesat satellite dish? or can it be connected to the sky one?

As thinking to have sky in living room, but freesat in bedrooms...is this possible?

yes, you will need an output on the dish for each decoder (two if it is a Sky+ decoder) so you may have to upgrade the LNB on the dish (You can't split the signal, like a normal aerial)

As others have mentioned you need a connection from the LNB for each STB you install, best to replace a single LNB with a quad (typical price including delivery from EBAY less than £10), a sky plus box will require 2 LNB connections, make sure all runs are in lo-loss satelite cable.

A far better deal than the one above, currently at B&Q, for freesat, includes dish, cable, fixings and most importanly the set-top box (this deal doesnt appear to have one!) .... £40

Just to clarify, you would not need another dish but for multiple services from the same dish you need multiple LNB feeds. As per previous poster, for 2 services you would need a dual LNB. Sky+ uses 2 on it's own as it allows you to watch one feed and record from another. I have 2 ordinary sky boxes fed from a quad LNB (I have 2 unused "for future expansion") and so only use 2 of the supplies from the LNB.

Please also note that while this is advertised as Freesat, it does still need a decoder, either a box or a freesat TV

You can install it yourself, you don't need an " engineer ".

Whether you need a professional depends on how much DIY you can do. If you can operate a drill and know how to fix the dish to the wall, you can do it yourself. If you get a dual or quad LNB you need only one dish and can run up to 4 set top boxes from the one dish.

Yes. The dish will pick up the signal from any satellite you point it at.

How would you go about lining this up yourself?

Not quite true, a 60cm dish will not receive a lot of stations or satellites, even if you do align it correctly, it simply isn't big enough.

Even if a Quad LNB is included it's not really a deal .... just check ebay out .... a dish with quad LNB for £10 plus £8 delivery .... (new) .... allow a few quid for cable, and some f connectors and cable clips ....
