Really lovely cake and I dont normally do supermarket cakes but bought it to take when visiting a old family member today and had not had time to bake and we all loved it

I don't get why people get so snobby about supermarket bakeries. Yes, they are focussed on mass-production so aren't going to be using the same high-quality process as your local family bakers, but if they say it's fresh, it generally is... (Just go to a supermarket near closing time and the bakery section will be empty - precisely because most of it is made freshly that day)

Another one that agrees with the above poster ^^^^

Stopped buying anything from morrisons when my hubby was eating a roll I got from there & it had a big dirty fingernail in the filling of it!!

Wouldn't buy anything 'fresh' or 'made in store' from Morrisons since overhearing a member of staff telling someone from the bakery department to 'stick it in the steamer' when the 'fresh' bread was getting a bit hard towards the end of the day(or was possibly left over from the day before!).On another occasion, I foolishly bought a pack of multigrain-topped deli rolls which had been marked down but still had that day's date on, there were quite a few packs all the same, only to get home to discover they were green mouldy on the inside!Generally find any of their own-brand stuff to be really poor, only go for the (non-Morrisons) offers.
