I thought I would give people a heads up incase they live/work in Birmingham or are going there for shopping etc and would find this useful...
I was in Brimingham last night and I came across a shop selling freshly made baguettes from 50p.
THIS IS THEIR NORMAL PRICE and was not becuase they were reducing baguettes at the end of the day! It does not appear to be a special opening offer either.
The shop is called Eat4Less and it is at 108 Corporation Street - opposite the Wetherspoons, a little bit down from House of Fraser.
They make baguettes fresh, to order. They have some at 50p, others at 75p and some for 99p. From what I remember, the 50p baguettes included cheese salad and cheese & pickle. The 75p baguettes included spicy cheese, tuna and others. I cannot remember what was in the 99p baguettes.
There were plenty of meat and fish fillings available for the baguettes in all the price ranges (at least in the 75p and 99p bands I am sure).
They also have pasties for 50p - including steak, cheese & tomato and 3 cheese.
There are also pre-made wraps and sandwiches for 99p.
If you like baked-potatoes, they are available for £1.50 with a variety of fillings.
I bought two baguettes (cheese salad and spicy cheese - I hadn't eaten ALL DAY) and they were generously filled and delicious :) I would definitely recommend this place!
I would have taken some photos to prove this deal but my phone was running low on battery and I didn't have my digital camera with me.
The person who served me said that they also have a shop in Coventry.
They appear to open late as I went there just before 10pm and they were still open and didn't look like they were about to close.
