ATTENTION ALL FIRST-TIME SKIERS!
2011 IS THE YEAR TO BEAT THOSE ‘DOWN TURN BLUES’ AND HIT THE SLOPES FOR FREE!

HERE’S A TRULY FANTASTIC CHANCE TO TRY SKIING FOR FREE – FOR ONE WEEK IN JANUARY OR MARCH 2011.

Are you one of the many that have fancied trying your hand at skiing, but for some reason just never seemed to have got around to going? Are you a skier who knows someone that you just know would love the sport if they ever did give it a try? Or maybe you have wanted to try for a while but have hesitated as you thought it will cost you too much to try something new?

Well, if any of the above applies to you, please read on and find out about a great offer that massively reduces the cost of venturing into the sport and offers truly amazing value for money to first-time skiers who book a holiday next season to a choice of more than 25 resorts across 7 great snow countries.

For a period of one week, from either 22 January or 19 March, you can learn to ski for free in one of the great resorts on offer in Andorra, the Aosta Valley in Italy, Canada, Finland, France, Norway and Switzerland.

*****

I used this deal when it was available last year and it is a fantastic offer and saved hundreds off the price of a normal ski deal.

There are limited places at each resort but it seems that any accommodation is available so you look at the website/brochure then give them a call on the number to book it.

They dont ask if you have been skiing before when you book. I have also spoken to one of the reps and they have confirmed that they do not do any checks as this deal is used to sell places on what would be 'quiet' weeks. Make of that what you will but I have been twice ;-)

Example deal that I went on last year:

Flights:
Sat march 20 @ 06:25 (lands 09:10) from Gatwick
Sat march 27 @ 10:20 (lands 11:10) from Grenoble
Meals on flight included (no extra charge)

Accommodation:
http://www.thomsonski.co.uk/destinations/france/la_plagne/024274/024274.html

Chalet is catered (Breakfast, afternoon tea/cake & dinner + unlimited wine included). Lunch + 1 evening meal (hosts day off) is extra.

Package includes (per person):
Return Flight
Food on plane
Transfers to/from resort
Freshers package (Sunday to Friday):
* 1x AM ski school (6 days)
* 1x Local lift pass (6 days)
* 1x beginner boots (6 days)
* 1x beginner skis (6 days)

Costs:
£638 per person - £75 deposit each, remainder due 10 weeks before.

Feel free to ask any questions if you want.

Wow. Might be something to consider when I go to University next year even though I've been skiing many years :p

The resort I always go to, Avoriaz, is available although I wouldn't mind going to Canada for a skiing holiday!

WELL EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are going to zermatt in Feb in school hols and staying in an apartment, 2 adults, 2 kids, equipment hire, lessons, packed lunches,etc and paying about £2500....tried here and LESSER requirements came to £7800!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

boy you lot dont know how much we english get ripped off esp when it comes to skiing.....my bro in law has lived in zurich switz for 10 years and he booked everything for us in switzerland because it is massively cheaper....

Did this this year in Austria, and its great value, however you need to be careful when booking. You can't book online, and some of the suppliers only have dedicated 0871 numbers to call. The price you pay will not be the same as the online price. When I queried the extra £200 with one operator, they said that it was dearer because of the free pass & lessons! Another operator insisted that only one person per booking could have the free passes etc. All lies of course.
Eventually went with Inghams, who will charge for telephone bookings (about £50 each if I recall), but are upfront about it.
