Last week i filled up my car with diesel (shell garage in Scunthorpe, Brumby lane??), the women behind the till told me that V-power diesel will have 5p off on friday 22nd only!
I can't verify if this is correct or not i am just going on what the lady said to me.

#3
what is the general price of the stuff normally?
#4
I think it is about, 5 or 7p more expensive than the normal stuff....

#5
Typical I filled up 70 litres of the stuff this morning :(

Looks like good stuff - the usual spiel on cleaning the engine, helping to stop build up of deposits, and helping clean up existing ones. It also says burns more efficiently, with better power delivery (than standard diesel).

Is this the same kind of thing as buying high octane petrol (e.g. V-Power unleaded instead of standard unleaded) - its only really worth it if your car is designed to run off it (generally higher performance cars)? Or is it a bit different with premium Diesel fuel?

Could be a hot topic of arguments like fuel threads normally are haha :D

(EDIT: BTW I know that everyone has different opinions on these types of things, and that intelligent / correct answers are hard to find. Just wandering if anyone actually knows if its better from research).

This thread has the inevitability of going down the same route as the £1 HDMI "its all about the 1's and 0s" thread.

5th gear did a test with a diesel car (1.9 something or other) and lab tests showed the premium diesel increased it by 5 bhp.

Is that the Shell opposite ASDA?

Might be a local deal, but its not that far away as to no be worth it.
#10
no is the other shell garage, down Ashby Road. I have not seen it advertised, just going by word of mouth by the women there. She remembered about it as i have a v-power card.
#11
I hope its the same for petrol :(

i was told it was the v-power diesel only, i asked about the v-power petrol as my other car runs on it.

hmmm, i wonder if the company will also offer this discount @ at its gasoline stations in France?...
#15
Can I just add another "stuff" for effect please? It seems to have been disappointingly under-used since about the sixth response. :p

Awesome stuff, this stuff.

Is this the premium stuff then?

I'm a big fan of their feul save stuff, genuinely seems to up the economy by anything up to 10% (for motorway driving at least)
#23

#24
Anything about petrol?
#25

this is the only fuel which goes in my engine but typical as just put in 45 litres the other day! :S

still hot!!!

I took one of these vouchers to my shell garage about a year ago and they wouldn't redeem it. Shell cutomer services didn't want to know either. Haven't been to a shell garage since!

So be careful here good people, and make sure the pump registers the correct pence/litre before filling up.

So no proof? Just somebody's say so,Do they normally do deals like this?
#31

My poxy Peugeot runs perfectly on whatever diesel I put in. :(

Exactly, so not so much of a 'deal' when you bung an extra £1 in every tank.

no i cannot prove it, it was going on what the women behind the till said when she served me the other week.

Good deal. They're obviously not selling enough of the stuff so they need to get more people to try it.

Is it ok to fill up with v-power diesel if I have a little bit of normal diesel in the tank???

No, Shell expect you to drive until you completely run out of fuel first...

No, Shell expect you to drive until you completely run out of fuel first...

And make sure you rinse the remaining rough stuff out with a few litres of petrol before refilling - just to be sure!
#38
So has anyone been to the garage to see if this is just a local deal or everywhere?
#39
I'm going there tonight to see if it is right... but by then it maybe too late

Sent my brother down to my local (Leicester), he said he paid full price and they didn't know nothing about it!
