Good price for 10 seasons yes (although Tesco of course did it for £20 before Christmas), but what edition is this? It says new packaging but has an old image so I doubt it's the uncut episodes.
#2
This isn't the uncut episodes. I bought this three years ago, before the uncut episodes were released. This collection has double-sided disc which is very frustrating.

If you were after the definitive edition, I would go for the uncut release, which is the newest edition, as they have single-sided discs. But if you didn't care about that, nor the uncut scenes, then this is the cheapest, currently available option you have for the whole series.

I use to have the double sided discs and was very happy rid of them, the get dirtier quicker due to constant turning and only being able to touch them on the edges and there are mistakes on some of the discs (ghosting and halos), the new editions are much better, worth the extra money in my opinion, not voted either was as this is a good price for a flawed product.

Channel 4 / E4 rights to show the series end this Autumn.

The E4 shows are also cut to ribbons - not even sure if the jokes they cut are because they're rude - or just to edit them down so they can show more ads.

The white boxset is the definitive collection to have.

I've noticed that. To such an extent that some scenes don't make sense. You feel like you're missing out when there's a lot of audience laughter at a joke that has been cut.

Cold from me. I got the Black boxset a few years back for £50 at Zavvi and after seeing the uncut episodes, you're better off getting that set. This isn't the "New packaging" set. This was new back in 2007 or 2008. The uncut episodes have on average a minute of extra footage for each episode

This has just started to be re-run in HD in america...

doubt it as the quality isnt great on the first few series
#16
This was £20 in Morrisons not too long ago (for the newest version, I believe...the white packaging?), so £9.99 more for a potentially older version is not great going, in my opinion.
banned#17
Will be out on Blu-ray no doubt soon so we're waiting for that....
#18
Better waiting till the new white boxset comes down in price again...I paid £19.99 from Tesco in December so I'm sure it won't be long before there is another similar deal somewhere.

They've released or are planning on releasing films from before Friends like Tron or even Charlie Chaplin films on Blu-Ray. Don't see why they couldn't do the same with Friends. Although, I'd rather some series come out completely on DVD here in the UK rather than Friends being re-released again. I really want to get the whole series of Cheers and Home Improvement

The difference is that films are made on film, which is naturally higher resolution than mere video. Sitcoms from older eras typically only exist in standard definition - some older dramas were originally made on film then converted to video, but rarely sitcoms.

I got the white box from morrisons for £29.99. Cold.

It's been on and off for a few days now since a load of their deals appeared in hukd

I might be mistaken but I think this box set is the one with bad reviews like it was thrown together from various other versions (dvd singles etc), and not uncut.

Friends the new white box has been on hotukdeals for around £20.

edit, yeah it is what I thought = Amazon Friends Box Set Reviews

Not to panic anyone who has ordered any of the what seems like 100's of ChoicesUK deals in the past couple of days, but the website now has nothing listed on it? Has everybody on hotukdeals emptied it, or is this just a temporary glitch? mmmmm....

Brill show!

Fantastic price! Just love this series - my 11 year old is on the third run of it - it has taken complete care of her sex education!!!!

Please read the amazon reviews before buying:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000WIF4KG/ref=nosim/?tag=hotukdeals-21

The first problem. So someone brought me this as a Christmas presant (but I used my account) and I had been looking forward to it. A few weeks before Christmas day I recived a email from Amazon stating that one of the discs in the second pack was faulty and I should contact WB. I did so and told them my details. And still to this date, I havent recived a email back saying that they would correct this.

The second problem I found in the design was the double sided discs they were slipping out of the books and had fallen out in the post. The design on Play.com shows them as single sided discs with nice desgined tops. Do not be fooled by this.

The third was in the design books where the DVDs were. On the spine of the DVDs, they state Series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Since there are only 6 characters = 6 packs. There are 10 series so it is hard to locate your favorite episodes.

The fourth was in the final episodes in series 10. The first disc in series 10 appeared to be fine. Then I couldnt find the second disc. But there was disc 3 and the disc that had been taken from the single sale DVD of the final 2 episodes which was single sided and didnt look attractive with the rest of the pack at all. This also should have been disc 3 of series 10.

The fifth in the lenght of the episodes. These are not the uncut episodes like that are featured in the American box sets. Some episodes shortened down to 20/21/22mins where the uncut episodes are 24mins. How long will it be until we get another box set? And will it include the uncut episodes?

I feel this pack should be Withdrawn, and repackaged and all errors fixed.

I have returned this product and am awaiting a refund. I am out of pocket for returning the product and I will be going to a store and paying more money for the old design box thats slightly larger, but doesnt have any problems.

Got this before Xmas from Tesco for £19.99 so not particularly hot or cold.

Nothing but bad things said about this version and that a better version has been £10 cheaper previously. Still gets 704 degrees and deal of the day. WTF?.
#32
Plus choicesuk sell b grade stock as a grade.

700 heat? Baffling.
#33
I don't understand how this has got hot? I paid £83 for this not long before the white set came out. My Mum bought me the white set and I gave her this.

I don't get somebody would buy this over the white one?
#34
How has this got so hot when it's old packaging with the newer set constantly coming up at 19.99
#35
Just to agree with everyone else - the white box is much better - and often cheaper...this isn't a hot deal.
#36
Why, oh god why ...
#37
where can you buy the white boxset then ? nowhere

or you could get it at Amazon for half the price, or if you aren't desperate for it, wait until it's £20 again. If it's some fanatic that wants it then they would either have it already or prefer the white one.

Does the white boxset have different episodes then?
