Went into the Doncaster branch today and they had normal size Frijj milkshakes(500ml) 4 for £1. Could only see banana and weren't many left so unsure if there were any other flavours on offer. Also 5 boxes of poppets for £1 toffee, raisins or mint, it said £1 but got charged 95p so...?

What do you mean owning only one shop? It doesn't make sense, as the other reply said to you they have lots of stores.

Also just to add that you say good deal then vote cold because you don't have one close to you, that is just ever so slightly weird, it's called hot deals not vote cold if you don't live near the deal in question.... it's not my fault they haven't got one near you..

Yep, what an idiot.

Why can I never get the banana ones on a deal ? Best god-darn milkshakes too :x

Anyway, seems no branch in Scotland... But still a bargain if you could get them! However, tesco has 2 for 1 deal... Another substitute choice.. :)

I live 5 mins from ashton-under-lyne and have never heard of Heron, I thought it was the return of the Heron petrol stations from the 70's!

Wow.. that's a very appropriate comment for a deal site.. thanks for that . My avatar loves it btw, he drinks it by the crate.

Low fat food, high in protein. Better than the flapjacks they sell in Holland & Barratt.

They've got loads of Heron shops in Liverpool, they all seemed to spring up from nowhere about 6 or 7 years ago. Kind of like a poor man's Iceland would be the best way to describe them!

Four Frijj for a £1 is amazing value and probably one of the few grocery deals we need on this site.

Voted HOT!

#19

And it's not your fault whether a deal goes hot or cold. A vote is on the deal in question, not on the OP, don't take things personally.

That said, hot :-D

Yes and that guy voted cold because he aint got one near him, I know what Druss is saying, its kinda spiteful. 'Oh I havent got one near me, so I'll vote cold'. What about all the people that have got one near them, but would never get to see the deal in 'HOT' coz everyone who hasn't got one voted it 'COLD'!

Either that or just plain stupid.

It shouldn't be possible to vote cold without a valid reason and an indication of who voted it cold.
Something like:

Markbloke votes cold because:
( ) Seen it cheaper elsewhere (insert here)
( ) Merchant is a scumbag who ripped me off before (when, how)
( ) Goods are fake or illegal (sources)
(*) Other. (Heron in Wallasey smells exactly like the inside of a vacuum cleaner)

I didn't vote cold but if I did, that would be the reason why.

That argument can go both ways though. What about people who only have a couple of minutes in their lunch break to browse HUKD, only time to see 2 pages of hot deals, and a really hot deal gets pushed to the third page by a bunch of mediocre ones.

If there had indeed been only one Heron store in the country as pdhroche incorrectly stated, the deal would rightly be voted cold. The whole country's attention not needed, a waste of everyone's time.

So chastise him for getting it wrong, not for spite.

I disagree. Not voting if there isn't a store near you is the right action. That way the vote is a proportional representation of availability and value.

That's fair enough in an ideal world where people only vote hot where an item is available to them, but they don't. Why should people show such restraint on a cold vote but not on a hot one?

I have a Heron foods opposite where i work. They can do some really good deals. Il have a look later, voted hot

People should show restraint on all sides otherwise any temperature is meaningless. I don't think there's any guidance on why you should vote hot, not vote or vote cold so it's hardly surprising. Maybe there should be a popup next to the voting buttons.
