Here is a nice little city break to Barcelona. Departing from Birmingham 25th June and returning on 27th June, you will stay for 2 nights in Barcelona. The hotel is the
Amrey Sant Pau Barcelona Hotel which is just 10 mins to the Sagrada Familia and has great public transport links too https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g187497-d234579-Reviews-or10-Amrey_Sant_Pau-Barcelona_Catalonia.html#mainReviewContent

The metro is really easy to use in Barcelona too, just watch your belongings as there does seem to be a lot of pickpocket warnings, although I didn't have any problems. You can easily get about and visit the Gaudi attractions and even head to the beach.

You'll need to add on airport transportation and there are options such as taxi or airport buses. You may also have to pay city tax upon arrival at the hotel.

Last time we flew to Barcelona with Ryanair was when the French air traffic control went on strike over summer holidays a few years back. Ryanair were useless, no refunds or alternate flights as they didn't feel they had a duty of care or sense of responsibility. They were the only airline telling customers all their flights were flying as scheduled. None of their flights left. We ended up booking flight home with another airline and claimed hotel etc back on travel insurance. Will never fly Ryanair again, they are beyond useless. Barcelona is a beautiful city though.

I guess it's out of their control if it was the France ATC strike but they should have kept you informed. I generally like Ryanair and Easyjet. I've rarely been delayed and if I have been it's only been a few minutes and they have made it up in the air. The absolute worst route for me is BA on the Manchester to London or vice versa. Every time it's delayed. So annoying to be 45 minutes flight away from home and be delayed!

Yes but as with all flights they have to land at some point! :D

As for the pickpockets you were lucky not to see any, it's the pickpocketing capital of Europe. Shame because it's an absolutely beautiful city but keep extra vigilant, especially on the trains.

Indeed, first day you're not checked in until 8pm if you're lucky... find some food and it's virtually time to board the sleepytime express to Bedfordshire. Second day is yours to visit two or three of the hundreds of attractions (or cram many more in without pausing for breath). Third day you're looking to make your way to the airport at 11am.

Nice idea but you need way more time in Barcelona unless your intention is just to add another notch to your travel bedpost or impress your mates with a random Facebook check in.
