From now until March/April Air NZ has some good fares on Premium Economy. These seats aren't like Premium Economy I've seen on other airlines and they actually look more like business class seats compared to some of the business class I've had with airlines such as Iberia. Its not going to be as good as paying full price for Etihad or perhaps Qatar business class but Air NZ has a good ratings and these are direct too with business class food and extra luggage.

I'd look at the video in the first link to see the seats as I was quite surprised at how much better they looked than other premium economy airlines.

What a shame it's a return!
I would have booked this for my wife if it had been a single.
Terrified she'd use the return ticket and I'll waste my money!

Heat added though.

Premium economy on a long haul might be a bit like business on short haul, but is nothing like business on long haul.

Its not quite like business class though is it? The seats do not lay flat, the leg room is small. No lounge access, no priority access to security check in.

The airline, along with Emirates offers one the most packed seating programs in the aviation world! So all you get here is a better seat in what is otherwise a sardine can experience.

Air NZ buy the cheapest landing slots, so when you get the hell, ops, LAX you will be queuing for hours to get out as bad airport matched with a cheap airline that dumps you in to an overcrowded, understaffed customs area is not fun. You get a better landing slot and airport experience with a ticket on BA for example.

The food, as I have flown on this set up in the last 12 months is better the Air NZ economy but its nothing special. This better seat etc. then say Iceland air or United.

However, premium economy is not, in airlines terms anything like business. I would rather fly premium economy on BA where you might pay more but you get more air miles and they can be spent on a better network (One World) as opposed to Star with Air NZ.

Any questions I might be able to help! IF you want cheap and don't mind squashed Air NZ economy at the lowest bid is a good option, I would not pay to upgrade to this!

The Air Nz one doesn't look too bad at all. The food is the same as business class and the seats aren't fully lie back but compared with the dire premium economy offerings of other airlines I was quiet surprised when I watched the video.

That said it isn't business class as you say, and it isn't priced as business class. It isn't going to compare to Etihad or Qatar for example. I've flown PA on BA and thought it was a bit 'meh' but is personal choice. I can't comment on the experience at LA airport but it's useful to know about the landing information, thanks for that.

It's not like business class, but it's great value for what you get. We have flown this route with Air NZ in Premium economy and would do so again. It's a long flight, so the extra space/service/amenities are very welcome. Had no problems with landing slots and Air NZ have been voted best airline in a number of categories for years. We have also flown Virgin and BA Premium economy on long haul flights and they are not a patch on Air NZ. I would jump at the chance to book this offer if I could go!

I'm amending the title. Although if anyone has ever flown Air Europe or Iberia business class I'd prefer this PA over their business class any day!

They can make their own decisions I wouldn't say misleading as I've given my opinion, posted links to the cabins and a YouTube video. Im just saying compared to some business class of other airlines this looks pretty much comparible but I've changed it now to avoid confusion.

Well it is misleading as it's just that: an opinion, not a fact.

Read the reviews, those seats are supposed to be awful. Air NZ messed up badly with their new planes, even worse in economy which is now the worst of the lot due to cramming 10 seats across in as opposed to everyone's elses 9.

I read the reviews, the first five I read regarding these seats said they were wonderful. Not so for the economy.

This is a great deal

Keep reading or look elsewhere, general consensus is they are rock hard, don't recline (seat base moves forward a small amount which is both uncomfortable and eats into leg space) and instead of footrests you get a totally useless mini bean bag. Loads of style, no substance.

A little off topic but I wanted to reply to that comment. I think that's the point, it is Meh, its consistent, easy, quality service with good help with things go wrong. Its not flashy, its not trying too hard, its not faddish, it has plenty of Alliance partners to back them up.

As a regular flyer for work mostly and sometimes pleasure its that backbone, day in day out, British quality that keeps people coming back who are flying b/c they have too.

Well I kept reading, and then I found some more reviews and everyone says they are fantastic. Do I need to cut and paste?
I honestly cannot find a bad word about them

Like any airline, hotel, etc etc there will be good and bad reviews, it just depends on people's expectations v price paid. Watch the videos, read reviews and then make your own decision. I saw very few poor reviews too as you said, lots of people seemed to like them, their Economy gets slated and the PE on the other planes, but I guess it just depends on people's expectations and reviews are just that, peoples opinions, which can be misleading as it was pointed out to me. One person will have a different experience than another.

It's just a deal, whether anyone is interested in it is up to them. If you want a 'proper' business class then of course you can pay extra.
