The year is 2024 and the world stands on the brink of economic and social breakdown, natural resources are all but gone and the superpowers have reformed. The Western Coalition (Europe and American) and the Red Star Alliance (China and Russia) are now at war over the last remnants of oil in the Caspian. You take control of the Stray Dogs unit (part of the Western Coalition) leader as you fight a series of large scale high intensity battles in a desperate bid to secure your way of life.

Fight in Open World Environments in both single and multi-player campaign modes, with multiple routes on every map, you can fight the enemy differently every time you play
Challenge up to 64 players online on PC and 32 on consoles. Use high-tech combat systems to collect and relay recon, targeting, and threat information then share this between team mates using squad specific chat
Frontline combat system: Use team based tactics to fight your way to key objectives, take them and push the frontline forward into your opponent?s territory, this mechanic always keeps the battle fierce and the players fully embedded in the action and the exciting non-linear structure means you can fight for the objectives in any order
Customisable soldier classes allow you to represent your play style through multiple weapon load-outs and role specializations. As you progress these classes evolve, the more experience you get the more features will be unlocked within the Role and give players new abilities on the battlefield
Over 60 next-gen vehicles and weapons inspired by military designs for the near future. These include remote controlled drones such as RC cars packed full of C4 (perfect for taking our tanks) aerial reconnaissance drones that feed back enemy locations to your team mates, directional rockets for homing in hard to reach enemy armour and many many more.

Good price, had my eye on a normal pre-owned version in Gamestation, it was on 2 for £18

Does anyone know if there are many people still playing on-line?

whats the game like? it seems really cheap with all the add ons included

tempted, but not sure i need another first person shooter

I couldn't stop playing this until Bad Company came along and effectively superceded it, and then it got sold.

It took them too long to create DLC such as further maps and update all the bugs and glitches and people got tired of waiting. Enjoyed it while it lasted but it filled a gap before better games came out and looking back, it was unfinished and messy in places.

I haven't seen anybody playing it on my friends list in months and I've got almost the full 100 friends on there. I suspect the people playing it now are your typical latecomers, which often means whiny American kids that have picked it up cheaply second hand and now think they 'rool' at it because the hardcore have moved on.

I would say it is quite similar to COD4 (in the way that I have not stopped playing it) but obviously not as good. It is a really fun game though. First person shooters are my fav type of game, and the weapons in this are cool and some are fun and quite unique (remote controlled helicopters with explosives in them etc.) You also feel like you have quite a lot of freedom to do things the way you want which is also really good.

I must say it's similar to Battlefield really. Plenty of vehicles including maps that have more choppers than BF, fighter jets as well and yes, the remote controlled vehicles, sentry turrets and futuristic weapons are fun.

Heat added BTW.

Worth mentioning that only DLC 1 map was free, the final 4 maps cost 800 points.

Exactly. I preordered this game and put up with it thinking a patch to fix the bugs would be along soon and more free maps would come out. No chance months down the line the old bugs are STILL there and new maps are out at 800ms, what a rip off.

Playing online is pointless everyone just cheats. If you aren't getting attacked every 5 seconds by 100% flawless grenade launchers someone is sniping you from inside a hill/wall/building/random object or using areas outside of the intended playing area to shoot you from (can't remember the map name but getting sniped constantly from behind hills players aren't supposed to be able to get onto gets tiresome when it is behind your first spwn point)

Had great things going for it and the developers just threw it all away.
