Use Code EXM5OFF25-1 - Thanks robot1000

8% quidco should make it £19.30

It's looking pretty stunning so far and I know you can record it but the BDs always look better than TV and it'll free up some hard drive space.
Just in time for Christmas too

Huge diffrence between 720p and 1080p

480p = 338,000 pixels / frame
720p = 922,000 pixels / frame
1080i = 1,037,000 pixels / frame
1080p = 2,074,000 pixels / frame

I haven't had a chance to catch this on TV yet. How good it this? The review have been very generous, so I was just wondering.

If it's anything like the previous BBC releases it'll be 1080i...which doesn't necessarily make it a better picture than the 720P you get off the telly.

...it'll be damn good though!

only 7 so this is bound to go a lot cheaper than £21

Saw 20 mins last night, it was rubbish. Same old stuff they pump out endlessly on Discovery. One time these programmes were ok, but by now we've seen it all over and over again. I'm no fan of Attenborough's voice either.

No doubt it will be hailed a success, because lors of old people like watching the same old tripe, year-in year-out :)

I think £20 notes look better than the BD as well.

Very much doubt the UK blurays of this are 1080i, only the American HDDVD & bluray sets of Planet Earth have been in 1080i (as they used the the televised versions w/ sigourney weaver for planet earth), the UK blu's of Planet Earth & Galapagos are full HD as I expect this is.

Same old stuff they pump out on Discovery? What, about animals? Geez, I know, Discovery really need to branch into some new areas for a change ;)

And don't badmouth Attenborough, he's a god amongst men
