Might not be very popular with some, but I love it. Frozen spinach half price, reduced from £1 to 50p, both in store and online in Sainsbury's (about time to find something reduced in Sainsbury's!)

I was just about to cook some lamb and I saw this lamb spinach curry recipe on the web and went to the closest supermarket to buy some spinach - I was quite pleased to see it at half price. Bought two, it also makes a wonderful spinach and feta cheese pie and would last for a while in the freezer :)

Will be stocking up tomorrow! Use a kilo a day during comp prep so this will save me literally about £5-10 over the next couple of weeks!

May I ask why? What's in it that makes you take so much?

It very low carbs (2g effective carbs the other 2g is fibre, not digested per 100g), very low calories and bulks out meals. 200g a meal, 3-4x a day. Also contains lots of vits, minerals and iron which is useful to have when dieting hard.

Thanks, shouldn't you want to take in more carbs when training though?

Any good recipes? I love spinach but all mine contain feta, which makes it unhealthy.

I eat mine with a little garlic thrown in once cooked in a steamer and then into a pan with 1 cal spray to oil. To keep things lean I combine with 1 small sweet potato cooked in the oven for 20 mins in chip size pieces coveed with garlic salt, tumeric, cumin and chilli flakes.

Makes the sweet potato like chilli fries and almost zero cals in the flavouring and the sweet potato is very low carbs and GI so low insulin release minimizing the risk of fat storage. Eat with lean stealk or salmond or cod spiced as you like. HTH.

i use this in currys, pasta sauces, delia's cheat spanikopita recipe (delicious by the way!!), just use 1/2 the weight of fresh spinach required.

I'm a big fan of Titly's busy kitchen. Just made this curry and it's delicious (I added yogurt at the end too, makes it more creamy)

It's also her recipe I use for spanakopita

I did not know it froze!! I buy fresh out of asda for £1 a bag and it gets cooked in recipes! This would be ideal to bring out when needed.
