I didn't know apples were vegetables. ;-p

We had the side salad on burgers tonight (their new 1/4lb chicken ones) and I made chips with the roosters :-)

Think they got 12 bread rolls for 30p too but we opted for different ones

roosters are lush when chopped into chips, par boiled then put into a roasting tin with a little hot oil and sea salt and cooked for about 40 mins in oven - best chips ever!!!! yum yum! theses are usually £1.48 so 30p is a steal! (were on offer a while back for £1)

Excellent deal, but are the roosters usually 2.5kg? think these are only 1kg:thumbsup:

Roosters are usually 2kg

They aren't usually £1.48 as they are the tiny bags not the full size 2kg bag

I usually peel, chip and leave in cold water for 20 mins, deep fry at 110 degrees for 8 mins, drain and dry on kitchen towel, chill in the freezer till needed, then pop them back in at 190 degrees till brown and crispy/fluffy, gorgeous chips! I'm trying your method shortly to compare! hehe :whistling:

Just back from Morrisons Swinnow Leeds, these unfortunately are 'Little Red Roosters', and as the description says, are tiny, can confirm they are 1kg bags also, oh well ....

*E2A*: 2kg bags are a quid at Asda atm
