Decent laptop for under £300. Although an extra 1GB of RAM would make it better.

Dunno if this is a good deal or not but 512mb ram is gonna make this laptop extremely slow as that's less than vista's minimum requirements so you'll need to buy more memory

From experience:
If anyone decides to buy a Fujitsu Amilo laptop, make sure there's a recovery CD in the pack, there's supposed to be one in there along with a 'utilities and drivers' CD.
If you don't realise at the time of purchase or make a claim within 30 days, you'll have to pay for it,about £45 if you want one

Vista basic only requires 512mb ram, not 1gb

celeron processor is ****. sorry to say.

yes they said 128mb ram is the minimum req for win xp and from our experience we all know how slow it is .

I have used vista basic with 1gb and that was still slow.

but anybody looking for budget laptop and don't like AMD's than its a good deal

I also thought this, but for XP it is OK. I am using a NEC 1.6GHz Celeron-M with 512MB memory and it runs fine.

I had 128MB DDR in my PC and XP Pro ran fine. It was not slow, the thing that makes it slow is when you put loads of stuff on the PC and and the registry/startup gets clogged up. My PC began to slow down so I increased the memory from 128MB to 384MB and it has not made any difference to it at all. What XP needs every 2 yrs or so, is a complete re-install otherwise it does slow down over time. I think this will happen with any Windoze OS.

If anyone is looking to buy a laptop for word, internet browsing then this is fine.
