HD Movie function on this camera is superb (MP4) + unusually... can zoom while filming

Was £135 with the discount last time.

But even at £140 now, such a bargain! Just got someone else to purchase it also.

High ISO shooting not great. In poor light shots will be poor.

This camera looks great, I would like a nice camera to take pics of the birds/wildlife in my garden (so I can zoom in from a distance), does anybody know if this camera would be any good for this? Thanks for your help!
#9
Does anyone know how the movie clips are displayed/stored in the memory? If I shoot 2 minutes on HD, then stop the recording, then another 2 minutes, and so on...will I end up with lots of individual clips that I will have to access via the playback menu seperately? Or is there a way it will play all clips back to back automatically?

I'd say so, it has 15x optical zoom! My current Fuji has a 12x optical zoom, which is great, this is better still.

I have this camera and I'm pretty sure you can play all your clips in a slideshow format.

If you give me a mo I'll check.

Yeah, it definitely has a slideshow function which plays all your clips consecutively.

Anyone having any trouble ordering from the site? I've tried two different cards and just keep getting a message about card authentication failed (I've checked the accounts for both cards and they're fine). It could be because I'm requesting a different delivery address than my billing one, but if they don't like that why do they allow you to specify it? I'm getting to the card authenticate stage (verified by visa) and after I put in my code (which is definitely correct) it's just kicking me back to the card screen. Quite annoying!

Which is best the fuji 200exr or pansaonic FZ38-can get either for similar price?

S200 EXR is technically superior, however I haven't seen it for £140? Cheapest I've seen is on Fuji website with the same voucher code as this one brings it to £260?
#24
S200EXR is £260 with this code, S2000HD is £140.

I really want a nice camera like this, especially for £140, i would love to take some nice wildlife shots, snow pics, family pics...

BUT i have to pay the bills first so im left with enough to buy a disposable camera...and then not develop it :(

So have some heat for a great deal, but i hate you :)

Would any camera buffs out there be able to recommend a better cam for around the same price range or is this that good.

Hi,

I ordered the s200exr after seeing this deal last week. I was also considering the fz38 before I noticed the exr. I'm really pleased with it. It has so many features, it controls just like an dslr. Also the sensor is bigger on the s200 compared with the fz38.(1/1.6 vs 1/2.33). IMHO the only advantage to the fz38 is HD recording, which is a feature I personally don't need. I'm sure you won't be disappointed with either.
Also the code in this post works with accessories on the fuji site, so you can pick up a case, spare battery, SDHC card etc all with discount...

DAMNOME
FZ38 is awesome!

No it isn't.

I had a Fuji s8000 (bought for £107) and now have a FZ38 (bought for £299). To my eye the quality of it's JPEG images is at best equal to the Fuji but is usually worse...

Mr Tetley - I think you made the right choice.
