tempted, but not too sure about the NP-40 battery - my old Fuji took these, so I bought a few off feebay. Over time (1year or so), they've all died. They won't charge (anyone else experience this?)

I think for my next camera I'm going to stick to one that I can use my rechargeable AAs

seems a good price, though - and it appears to be pretty compact (heat given)

I reckon you may have had chinese batteries? I have had several fuji cams with this type of battery and they have been great!

It is one of the reasons I like the fuji so much :-)

Good price! .....refurb is £59.99 on the fuji site
good camera got one of these, for the price really good deal buy it!
Not had that problem with the battery though and did the same brought a couple extra of e-bay for just over a fiver so no complaints there!
Sadly ithe image quality is 'terrible' according to this review. It is best to stick with the Fuji 'advanced' range which have a larger sensor.

good price. thanks
good deal, however last ltime i bought of Play, the item i recieved was a used item , so im reluctant to use play for anything other than dvd's and cd's now
I bought this camera and reviewed it against the Olympus FE-370.

My review is as follows...

At least Fuji are now also using SD/SDHC which are pretty much universal and FAR cheaper than xD. Also, many laptops will accept SD directly but not other formats. Watch out with SDHC though as not all readers accept them (but a USB card reader from Poundland will overcome!). Frankly, a 2Gig SD card is so cheap now that's is much easier to manage your pics on a number of them rather than worry about SDHC. With a really big card it's too easy to lose track of what you've got on there and it would be an even bigger blow if it had a problem or got lost/stolen.

I too have bought quite a number of clone batteries from China over the last few years and so far no probs at all. Even the branded ones won't last forever and the price difference is so big you can afford a slightly shorter life if true.

2009 ranges are just coming into the shops now and I get the strong impression that digital compact list prices have dropped considerably - lots of decent looking cameras from the respected brands for under £100, some well under, so deals like this won't look quite so good in future. It'll be interesting to see where the secondary brands go on price now.
£79.99 for me :(

http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews_fujifilm_finepix_j50.php not too good a review either but then it wasn't only fifty odd quid at the time.
