Been after a camera, does anyone know much details of this one? Looking at the reviews on Argos, all seems to be good.

You could be right, but past experience my brand new batteries ran out in a camera I was using as it just ate them, since I now have a camera with a rechargable battery i've had no problems

Thanks great price...

If you use the right type of batteries then you will have no problem, digitial camera's tend to eat up standard batteries in minutes. You need the high performance rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) AA batteries, these can be recharged many times over. Batteries + charger can be found for around £15

this is a good camera for the price. Hot!

Voted hot.

I owned a Fuji S602 many many years ago. Fuji really do a great job of bridging the gap between compact / amateur cameras and SLRs. Mostly due to the solid electronics with a lovely big lens bolted to the front!

If I didn't already have a Canon 450D, and was looking at upgrading from a compact, I'd buy this in a flash.

No stock

But hot for the money

Thats due to the way cameras are more power hungry than they used to be and standard batteries being lower powered than good rechargeable.

Decent rechargeables (as in, normal re-chargeable batteries .... not proprietary built in ones) tend to last better than a brand new set of Duracells. But, it's handy to be able to pop into a corner shop and pick up a pack of AA's if you get caught short.

Good explanation and recommendations here - http://www.steves-digicams.com/accessories/batteries/

Oh, and good camera for this kind of money. Heat added!

I have this camera and while it is a good camera i rarely use it as the batteries last no time at all[and that is the NImH ones] wish you could buy a lithium battery for it then it would be great.

I'd say it an Argos 'special' [a bit like the way PC World/Currys can have an 'exclusive' model number on some items, like Canon printers for example]

It's not listed on Camerapricebusters [only one supplier?] and even the manufacturers page has a direct link to Argos website.

Thanks OP. Reserved the last one in my area. Got my partner the GE X5 from Asda two weeks ago for £77 and it's still unopened in the box. Thinking I might return the GE for this one as the lens might be of better quality. Anyone have any views?

I have a lumix TX7, can any one advise would this be worth the purchase?

This is where I think HUKD fails. There is 4 available near me, and I would be happy to go and pick up and post Special Delivery for someone who needs one, for say, a tenner.
They get a camera cheaper than they can get anywhere, and I get a few quid for my trouble, but apparantly this is profiteering!
If the shoe was on the other foot, I would expect, and pay someone else to do the same, so I personally don't see where the problem is...
At least on here we are all doing our bit to help each other. If I buy the 4 and stick them on ebay, you are having to bid and compete on something that you could have secured for the price of postage and a few quid for the shippers time.

Have you tried using low self-discharge batteries (e.g. Sanyo Eneloop or Uniross Hybrio), rather than conventional NiMHs?

I've got a Pentax DSLR which uses AAs. Because of the high current demand, conventional NIMH batteries show low after around 20 shots, but Eneloops or similar are good for over 300 - they really do make that much difference.

Excellent deal, btw, voted hot but none anywhere I looked near me. :(
