Although this is a fantastic camera for the price, I would be tempted to pay the extra and get it new from amazon.

But that's almost 40% more expensive and you still get a 6 month warranty with Fuji.

In fact you could get a two year warranty for an extra £25 with Fuji making it £122.90 - still a full £13 cheaper than Amazon

Having had a refurb from the Fuji Store before I would always take the refurb option if there is a saving such as this, you would not know it was not brand new, all sealed and spotless.

agreed.

My dad got a S7000 and i got a S9600 from the refurb shop and not had any problems.

The 8000s a VERY good camera at that price by the way...they sold like hotcakes at the old £130 price!

I have this camera, I bought it in January and the cheapest you could buy it at then was £180. This is an absolute fantastic camera with a massive optical zoom, easy to use (I am a bit of a techno dummy) and the results are soimpressive that people have asked me if I do photography for a hobby for do I do it professionally

Brill camera, bought one when the Fuji discount was on. Terrific video, as good as my dv camera and easier to download. Also bought the 3 year guarantee as it covered accidental damage as well.

I bought one of these and am well happy.

can't knock a fuji camera. i started with one of their cameras and now i'm a pro photographer (not with same camera) just enough controls to give you creative license but also dummy mode for when you can't be arsed :)

Just had to spend another £25 on rechargeable batteries!

The "deals" on this site cost me a bloody fortune!

£25 of rechargables you`ve been had m8 unless you have bought half a dozen packs or summin

more than likely they will get more in stock after the 20% off expires

Got the charger and 8 2700mAh batteries and that includes delivery. Still got these other cameras I bought accidentally though. hopefully after the bank holiday, i;ll be able to speak to someone who can cancel my extra orders.

Buy an olympus 500uz or the series or go direct for the SLR, this camera cannot differ between different conditions and need extra settings all the time for every ocassion or atmosphare.

The reviews state a good all rounder. for a novice willing to learn will this not bo good enough as I pick up various tips etc?

Its cheap compared to most SLR's as well.

I missed the last deal on fuji, and as I have a 5 month old daughter, really wanted a camera that takes great pics, isn't too complicated, but will give scope if I wanted to get into it further. I couldn't wait any more so bought the s8000fd at 129 from ebuyer, picked up a class 6 8 gig mem card for about 22, then got 4 x 2500 nimh rechargeables, then bought the 7(dayspecial?) superfast charger with 4 x 2800 nimh (with individually regulated slots!), then also picked up a nice case for 15 bucks. Total was about 200-210, I can take about 2000 shots on the card and it takes some nice photos. I'm still learning but am really enjoying it at the mo. I see this camera as perfect for those wanting more than a compact, but are not sure if they are willing to take it seriously enough to spend big bucks on an SLR. The great thing was it cost quite a bit less than the sony compact, which is my old camera, and to buy the newest model would have cost more like 300-400. Infinitely better options and truely great pictures. One tip would be to pick up a monopod for 15-20 quid, absolute necessity if you got shakey hands like me :P

Not the best shot but from an amateur like me:

jwob2,
thanks for reply by PM and I do still want camera so can we discuss on here before we go back to PM to exchange details:thumbsup:
#26
first of all can you confirm price for me delivered
Would you be OK with sending to me first
How do you want payment made.
#27
Looks like they've disatched 2 to me today so i'm happy to sell one of them for cost plus postage
#28
Not sure how much postage will be, i'll find out ASAP for you though. Not sure about sending it out first... how do you intend to pay?
#29
I can pay anyway you choose - bank Transfer, Paypal (gift) - Cheque.

I would prefer you sending first as you have no feedback and only 20 posts

I have been here for a long time and have good feedback ( including 1 deal worth well over 1K)

If I was going to scam anyone I would have done a runner with all them Sovereigns I bought on here

Out of interest where are you located ?
#30
I'm located in Swansea, would be great if you could pick it up. If not I'll find out postage costs and let you know how much the total will be (hopefully they'll arrive tomorrow so i can find out then). BT or paypal would probably be best if that's ok.
