Was reduced to £66.66 last week and i picked up an ex display one for £60, but yesterday in the Cardiff store they are now reduced to £48.83.

10x optical zoom, giving an equivalent of 38-380mm
Large 2.5", 230 000 pixel LCD display with wide view filter so it's easier to share your on-camera images
1cm macro focusing
xD or SD card compatibility
Picture Stabilisation mode, which increases the ISO automatically up to 1600 with minimal noise
Increase to 7.1 million pixels (over 5 million on the S5600)
"Real Photo" Processor to deliver first-rate colour reproduction, image sharpness, low noise and excellent tonal response.
User modes to increase creativity, such as Fuji's own "Natural Light with Flash" which takes 2 photos (one natural light, one with flash) and leaves you to decide which is better. Also, Fuji Intelligent Flash Technology assesses the ambient light and general scene information to carefully balance exposure to avoid the washed-out appearance of so many flash photos.
Image stabilised movie mode at an excellent 30fps at 640x480 resolution with zooming and exposure adjustment while you shoot. You can take up to 35 minutes of footage on a 2GB memory card.
TTL 256-zones metering
Aperture priority, shutter proirity and manual exposure modes plus 12 scene modes
Preset, custom and automatic white balance
Electronic Viewfinder

Not sure what they are up to, judging by the amount of great electrical deals from Sainsburys on here lately i'm inclined to think they are being clever and luring people in to their stores to look for deals like this and it works in my case as normally it would be the last place i would shop but can't resist a visit whenever i am near a store just lately !

I think you've hit the nail there. it may be a ploy to attract us and then they will be "out of stock" when you get there, and then you will get depressed and then buy something in Sainsburys, haha

I'm not able to get to my local sainsburys (its about 30 miles away)..Would anyone be willing to send me one? If so, can you let me know and i'll get something arranged?
#18
actually ... just found the number 0800 63 62 62 (it's the Electrical Helpline )

they can tell you which stores should have stock but it's best to call the store direct before you make a trip
#19
Very hot if anyone can find stock..... I'll give it a try in the morning.

It's known as a superzoom. They don't have interchangeable lenses, just a good range and a fairly short barrel (they tend to use prisms) you'll get a bit of warp around the edges of the picture at higher zoom levels but that's easily fixed and you probably won't notice it anyhow. Very good price for the camera even if it is getting on a bit. I have a superzoom myself and get on well with it (Mine's a Panasonic FZ50) and they're a jack of all trades, master of none but definitely hold their own against the point and clickers.

I bought the S5800 last year (more or less same model) and it is fantastic.
Even the videos with sound are better than some camcoders (surely better than my JVC of 3 years ago)

#33
reserved at st clares gonna use my 5000 nectar points so works out about 25 quid :)

Bought this camera for around £60 ish from Sainsburys just after Christmas after hearing all the great reviews on here but both my husband and I are really disappointed with the quality of the images- They seem blurred. Now I am not slating the camera as it is more than likely user error but our previous camera was just an Olympus C180 ( only a 5.1 MP)and the photos on that look outstanding compared to what we are getting from this one ....any ideas what we are doing wrong? Bought it to go sightseeing in London but not willing to risk taking it due to the quality we are getting.

Regards
