Nice and small mirrorless camera but with a proper full APS-C size sensor yielding very low noise results, fantastic quality kit lens and beautiful Fuji JPEGs.

This is £359 on Amazon.co.uk and £307.86 is better, by far, than any other price in the UK.

If they run out of stock, the camera is about £15 more on Amazon.de if choosing Amazon as the seller.

The only thing worth looking out for before ordering is this page as there may be a free lens offer on again tomorrow if ordering in the UK:
http://www.fujifilm.eu/uk/products/digital-cameras/promotions/
If there is, simply cancel your Amazon.es/de order and order from .co.uk ;)

Can you claim free lens if you buying camera in Spain or Germany?
#2
No, but the free lens offer isn't on at the moment and I don't want to wait for months on end for a free telephoto lens that I'll never use (I need the camera for my summer holiday).

Having said that, I will be cancelling my order if it's back on tomorrow as selling the free lens makes the camera very very cheap.

I put an order in for this as there isn't many in stock and the price is much lower.

Just wondering, how do you know the free lens offer is gonna be back tomorrow? Did they announce it somewhere?

What about paying by Paypal?
I can't exactly work it out but it appears if your paypal is funded by a debit or credit card, you avoid at least one 3.8% fee by paying more than the conversion amount into your paypal account. If the exchange transaction requires even one pence more and a debit or credit card is used then you are charged at least 3.8% (probably on the whole transaction?)

This is paypal's basic exchange rate converter:

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_convert-currency-generic

which gives 1 EUR = 0.779392 GBP
remember fees will be on top of this!!!

I am after a decent camera , if the offer comes back again on this one will be a good price.
I am divided by this 2:
Fujifilm X-A1 or Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX60V.

I need something that takes good pics and compact. Any ideas ???

This is the competitor from Sony: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-NEX5TL-Compact-System-SEL1650/dp/B00EPBTZS8/

The DSC-HX60V doesn't compare, it has a much smaller sensor and a fixed lens. The X-A1 and Nex 5 will blow it out of the water in terms of image quality,

The Sony Nex 5 is more difficult to use but has better video mode and a panorama function.

The Fuji X-A1 has the image quality edge (less noise), better JPEGs and is easier to use (more knobs instead of hunting through menus on a touch screen). The video is worse and the lens doesn't collapse as small as the Sony, the Sony has faster auto focus. Additional lenses you can buy are far better on the Fuji. No built in flash on the Sony.

I chose the Fuji because it takes better photos, is easier to use and is cheaper. If you really want to compromise image quality for compactness then there are a hundred+ choices, I think EVIL cameras are a good balance.

Ok, the Amazon.es deal was the best deal for about 5 minutes ;)

Now recommend Amazon.co.uk or UK Digital (http://www.ukdigital.co.uk/fujifilm-xa1-lens-kit-black.html) and this: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/fuji-promotions-july-2013-100-x-pro1-free-lens-x-m1-x-e1-x-a1-50-finepix-s1-1943150

Even if you don't want the free lens you will be able to sell it for much more than £50 i.e. £200+:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B00F9X8PF0/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1404216831&sr=8-1&keywords=fuji+xc50-230mm+lens&condition=new

Thanks for all the replies,
so the fuji xa1 its better.
A couple more questions, how do you know about the offer and where do we have to
buy it to be eligible to the free lens?
#15
I have a brand new X-M1 in silver/brown if anyone's interested. Will sell for £300 so less than X-A1 and it offers much better picture quality in high ISO's.
#16
How much can I realistically expect the 230mm lens to go for though? Pretty much all prices on eBay are buy it now and no bids on auction ones?
#17
Just to add, if you buy this from fotosense, its £349 and it also comes with a free, 3 year extended warranty. :)
