Cracking deal for a really rather good camera and lenses to cover a decent range from fairly wide to decently long. Plus you get a bag and memory card to get you started.

This isn't the deal that comes up on Amazon - it's the X-E1 rather than the X-M1/X-A1 - it has a shutter dial, easier access to focus modes and an electronic viewfinder as well as better build quality and handling - a superior camera all round in my books.

As for the refurb status of this, fuji do a full check before these go on sale and they have a years warranty. I've had a refurb X100, X10, X-E1, 18-55mm and 60mm from them and not a single one has looked anything less than as new - I see no reason to buy new when refurbs are this good.

'paypal12' for this price!

Amazon have had this on a lightning deal many times in the last month for £400:

Fujifilm X-M1 with Twin Lens Kit - Black (16.3MP, XC16-50mm and XF27mm) with a free XC50-230mm lens.

That's a different camera. This deal is for the X-E1.

different camera.

This is a good price for a good camera. However, keep an eye out on amazon warehouse as I picked up an X-e2 with the much superior 18-55 lens for £500.

bought my x10 as a refurb, perfect condition and very nice camera. my only concern with cameras like this is the availability and price of lenses.

Well clearly it’s a different camera and with a different lens package as well. ;)
I posted it as a reference point because it’s the same family of camera. Sure the X-E1 has advantages over the X-M1 but for some the X-M1 deal might make more sense.

"Amazon have had this on a lightning deal many times in the last month for £400" ... Your words not mine ;).

To be fair, I do the thiink the XM-1 deal was better though (The cost of Fuji lens make the system unviable for me anyway unless you get a good deal with them thrown in)....£400.00 for the XM-1 with the 3 lens was an absolute bargain...however its gone now :(. If you do want a Fuji though and a viewfinder is important to you and you don't mind forking out for the cost of Fuji Primes (such as the 27mm) the X-E1 does look nice!

That's the ambiguous nature of language at times. ;)
This refers to what I had listed beneath it denoted by the colon. I was aware of the ambiguity of my language but as I was comparing a different model with 3 lens versus 2 I figured it was clear enough!
Not that it matters as ideally one would buy both and then sell on the unwanted bits of kit and end up with an X-E1 with the XF27 plus other lenses of choice for a very low price. I often trade like this to end up with good kit at a low price which was where I was coming from. ;)

Having re read your original post with a different context I see what you originally meant....like you say the English language is ambiguous and the same sentence can be read in different ways. All good fun :). I do regret not buying the XM-1 as it was such a good deal.....I just have three cameras already and really should start using them before buying more! oO
