Here's an alternative to the super hot deal on the Canon digital camera from Argos which has now expired. Also claims to be half price.

10Mp, 3x optical zoom and digital image stabilisation too.
Significantly slimmer than the Canon at 2.6cm (vs 3.1cm).

Available on line and in store in silver or pink.

Like many cheaper digital cameras this is AA battery powered. My views on that have been extensively posted but if it's not an issue for you and you simply want a decent little snapshot camera from a respected brand then this could be a very good choice.

"The FinePix A160 is ideal for those investing in their first digital camera and who are after an easy-to-use camera that produces great photos. If you want point and shoot simplicity then this is the camera for you."

I'm not sure why you think this deal for a camera that uses AA batteries is hot, given all the thread spoiling you attempted on this thread about the same feature of a camera?

Welcome to the select membership of my ignore list
I suppose I should do likewise and ignore you now, but I wouldn't be so petty as this is a public forum for any valid views to be shared for the potential benefit of others. I guess I should be flattered to be put on your 'special' list though!

Why is it 'thread spoiling' to post alternative and objective views for others to consider? Given the heat the Canon deal reached it certainly didn't look very 'spoiled'. What's your problem, got out of bed on the wrong side this morning? Don't like ideas different to your own? Upset because I responded positively to your challenge to post an alternative deal? I challenge you to come up with some valid concerns re this posting which would actually be of interest to someone considering a purchase rather than just trying to engage in some sort of petty spat of interest only to yourself.

Interestingly, I received three pieces of positive rep from my comments on the Canon deal, more than for any single contributions I've made previously.

For everyone else reading this and for whom it may be of real interest:

I've said repeatedly within various HUKD camera threads that there are pros and cons to consider re AA battery power, which is why I was honest enough to make the comment in this listing. I simply urge anyone to consider these before rushing into a significant purchase. Whilst I would go for Li-ion batteries myself, for anyone interested in the Canon deal now expired (and there appeared to be many of them) or similar this is a very valid alternative (slightly better in my view) at the same price and it's still available (Canon has gone back up to £100 at Argos). The fact that it is so much slimmer than the bloated Canon partly addresses one of the points I raised with regard to AA power too.

Hope it helps someone.
