The Fujifilm AX245W 12 megapixel digital camera features a 4x optical zoom, a 2.7" LCD screen, a wide-angle 28mm lens, face recognition and video recording with sound. The AX245W is compatible with SD/SDHC memory cards and batteries are included. Finished in black. The FinePix AX245W boasts Fujifilms unique SR AUTO mode. This Scene Recognition technology cleverly detects a scene without the need to pre-select the mode on the camera. SR AUTO recognises night, landscape, portrait and macro scenes. Simply select SR AUTO, and the camera automatically sets the appropriate shutter speed, exposure and white balance to ensure that you get the most out of your photography. In order to achieve this, the camera is constantly adjusting its lens settings which you may hear as a series of low pitched clicks as you focus on different scenes. This is perfectly normal and means that the camera is working correctly. To operate silently, simply select any other mode.

I bought one of these in store around 2 months ago for £69 - not a bad camera at all for the price although some of the pics in the SR AUTO mode are a bit grainy if taken in poor light.

Heat from me though.

Do you mean "noisy" as in sound or grain in picture?

It's a good camera with a decent wide angle and a big plus: it uses AA-type batteries. Hot from me.

here is an old thread from 2 months ago with some info about noisy focus:

Thank's for that Pet, meant in sound but it seems to be the camera focussing

Depends on what you call noisy to be honest. I can live with a few clicks and whirls, after all its a camera not a dvd player or something like that!

Most cameras make some sort of noise when focusing and to be honest until your question i hadn't really thought about it so it isn't an issue

I've returned this camera after one day of use.
Much worse then my 1year old Sony CyberShot. All the pictures I took on low light was reddish & grainy.
