(i will try again.. the first thread did not link correctly.)

I know there are loads of threads on here regarding PC World Clearance... and i for one have been in a few times this week looking for deals......

One thing I found is in the Photography section in my local store they had a separate clearance bin where i found a Fujifilm F47 9mp Camera @ £39.97 !!

Average prices around seem to be around £80.00 in sales upwards.... (i have not spent any real time looking for a better deal..)

So just a tip really.... make sure you check the photography clearance bins also!!

(after speaking with a manager, he advised clearance stock from head office is arriving ever other day, so its best to check mid morning for the best items..)

I only purchased this camera as a spare... so our lass uses this rather than my collection!!!

Photos to follow in next post.

Cheers

Rick

Bought one of these myself from Leicester for the same price but without battery (which cost another 6 quid off the internet) nice little camera, like you this will ensure my missus isn't tempted to pick up my Canon 40D or G9!

i saw the xfx nvidia 8800gs 368MB the other day, at 49£. it had bargain written on its forhead. deals do exist but you need to ask yourslef if you really need the item. you might be unemployed by the end of this month.

I got the TomTom One XL for under £60 on Boxing Day from PCW.

Can't be bad to that!

The PC world clearance is odd. In Aylesbury, there was quite a lot going cheap. I picked up a couple of Xbox 360 games (Ninja Gaiden for a tenner, and Rockstar Table Tennis for £2.97 - there are loads of that still left). But Milton Keynes (which, perhaps coincidentally, has been fully rebranded with the new logo etc) had nothing beyond a bin with some interchangeable advent laptop fascias.

Too many mexapixels for a compact. Good price though.

Fuji themselves selling a refurb F47 for £78.29 so fantastic price! well done OP!

no more left i hope

A lot of the bargains go to staff, who get wind of the price changes before these forums do. The staff can see what a day's price changes will be the day before.

Funny you should say that. I heard The DG group are the next to go, so if you buy anything from PC world , don't pay for their extended warrantys as they will be worthless, if you do need one pay for an insurance backed one using your credit card.

Don't buy these warranties anyway - they're mostly retailer profit (probably more than the item!).
If you put all the warranty money you don't spend in an account and use it for any repairs along the way you're almost guaranteed a nice fat personal profit at the end.

where can i buy this cam? this is great deal..

Excellent camera, prob the best low light/indoor compact about.

LOL

Yes of course... NUMPTY! The insurance in underwritten by a third party insurance provider... I forget which one, it's something like Domestic and General. Most people who moan about the insurance have never used the service or go by what they hear on consumer programs like Watchdog

Thinking about it... i think they are....

The only reason i thought of Domestic and Geneal was due to me taking the extended warrety on a white good via HOTPOINT rather than currys own,,.. my mistake..

I got one of these a few months back for £75 after my F30 got run over by a car (fortunately it wasn't in my hands at the time). Great camera and fantastic bargain if it can be snagged.

There is a firmware update out there somewhere which will allow the camera to accept the high capacity SD cards (SDHC)
#35
Has anyone else managed to find one of these? It seems all the clearance deals are PCW are just 1 off's :-(
Very very good price (if anyone can find one)

This Wikipedia page points to this page for the firmware update. I think it is the same one I updated my f47 to . I've still yet to test it with a SDHC card.
