Special Scene Settings
Some situations demand a little bit of photographic expertise. Luckily, the A500 Zoom has got this all built-in. If you fancy taking a portrait, sports photo, landscape or night scene, the A500 Zoom gives you the option of four modes that set the camera up to achieve optimum results.

Solid Build
Just pick up the A500 Zoom to find out how metal components have been engineered into the design to create a surprisingly rugged construction that feels reassuring to hold.

Built-in Memory
It's reassuring to know that as long as the camera has power, you can take a picture – the FinePix A500 Zoom contains a very useful 12MB of internal memory, which is enough to accommodate those emergency images that you didn't have space for on the card. The main storage for images on the A500 Zoom should be an additional xD card, which will allow you to accommodate almost as many images as you like.

I have also noticed that Boots **IN STORE ONLY** are doing 'Fuji Digital Camera Essentials Starter Kits' for £17.00 and are for sale online at £69.99 http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1054696&classificationid=1025150

Great addition to the camera deal! Checked out 3 local stores who all have them in stock! Just got mine today...
Sorry for such a HUGE pic - just wanted you all to see the price

Just noticed that on the Boots site it states 'small case' its quite large to be honest, I've got a Fuji s5600 (which is s 'big' camera, more like a traditional SLR) and it fits that perfectly and the case is leather - I'm still very chuffed with mine. I agree about the memory card, I'm going to invest in the 1GB on Amazon.

No, the pic is fine, thanks for notifying us of the IN-store offer.

This is an absolutely great price on the camera centurion :) Voted ++++

it winds me up when manufacturers think 64mb memory cards are any good for a 5 megepixel camera.
#5
is this worth it to get semi decent pictures?
#6
Very good price for a decent camera.. The essentials kit does NOT look a good buy even at £17 though ( 64mb memory card is too small and the case is too big for this camera). Get one of the small £1 camera cases from Tesco.

But its a pity it uses the expensive XD memory cards. It slightly dulls the bargain price , because you are going to need a memory card ( at least 256mb for a 5 MP camera).

Welcome to HUKD simes.

The prices of XD cards are rapidly falling too. Check out this thread: http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25479.

That's a 1GB card for about £22!

I'm sure that you will probably find some (most?) of the items cheaper elsewhere on the net - but I still think its a great in-store offer and at least the links that I have put will give you a 'l:roll:  k' at what you are actually getting!
