thanks for heads up, was disappointed this went out of stock as I wanted one for my mistress, will check it out

Bargain.
I bought it for £120 6 months ago as a step up from a pocket camera.
Lovely bit of kit for a wannabe photographer that doesn't or can't go the whole SLR route.

Am I lightly to get as good a camera/slightly better for a similar price?

I doubt it

Seriously tempted

Great price but make sure you really want to lug a piece of kit this size around. It won't slip in your pocket 'just in case'. If you're prepared to tollerate the inconvenience you'll get some good pics from a bargain camera - but you won't if you left it at home because it's a nuisance.

Very valid points. We've kept our pocket camera for 'just in case' situations but if I know I'm going somewhere 'special' I take out my bad boy.

Wow - have been seriously thinking about getting one of these since Christmas. Like a try bargain hunter i've been waiting for it to drop below a tonne! I managed to get one of the bargain Fujifilm compacts in January which is great for £77!! Also, we got 50 free digital prints with it; i wonder if you get them with this too...?

Great find OP!!!!

Worrying review from TrustedReviews:

I had a S1500 and was forced to send it back to QVC for a refund. There was a high level of purple fringing (chroma), but that was not the main problem. The camera could only be used with the sun behind me and on days when there was no scattered light. A lens hood is not supplied and it is not possible to fit one due to the design of the lens. There is no filter thread. The lens suffered from severe flare and the photos were useless. Why Fuji would sell this type of camera without a hood is beyond me. A phone call to Fuji UK confirmed that a hood is not available. The Fuji S1500 is the worse camera that I have used in 40 years plus. I obtained a (used) Panasonic FZ18 from a local dealer, what a difference !! Just to end this saga, I was that impressed with the Panasonic it got me thinking....what about the Panasonic G1 ? after hours of reading test reports and web photos/commments from users I now have a G1 on order! If you want a bridge camera then go for the current Panasonic FZ28, the Fuji S1500 simply does not make sense.

That may well be true but the Panasonic FZ28 is double the price... As we know from this site you get what you pay for. Unless they are Cinema tickets.

Got one of these last week but took it back today, not impressed with the picture quality, looked good on the camera lcd but soft when viewed on hd monitor, also in video mode the zoom and autofocus motors are very noisey and ruin the sound of your recording, not a bad camera for the money, maybe i was expecting too much in terms of quality but the video mode problem on top made me take it back,at least adsa give you 28 days to get a refund if your not happy

Here's the video quality. I was quite pleased with it, enough not to lug a vidcam around with me. It's fine until it does focus, then it is loud. Shame.

Got 1 from Asda in Thornaby today. Unfortunately I was let down by the 1 I purchased on Amazon.

Asda Thornaby are advertising them at £127 however they scan at £97.

2 left in the stock room, I asked.

PS Got a voucher for 50 free 6x4 prints too!

I use the 97p 2700mAh AA rechargeables from Currys and they last ages. I managed over 300 photos and only charged them 'just in case'.

Is this some kind of non funny joke cus i just dont get it ? some thoughts are better off just left in your head and not shared....!

This may be the ideal camera for me, I was looking at the £150 s1750 but the video on that camera lets it down (annoying hiss in recorded audio). But for less than £100 with similar specs the s1500 would be a good bet. Although I'll probably have to order one on the website, rather than pick up instore knowing my luck.

Picked one up from Asda Wembley today, they had quite a few in stock if anyone can get there.

I picked up the camera from the Parkhead Forge store in Glasgow today, still £97 and seemed to be plenty of stock. Thanks to the original poster.

Snapped a little bird in the garden with it earlier, through the window. Zoom lens works well
