Love my 8000fd

bought about 4 weeks ago in Jessops for £125 [ with aid of voucher]

Its end of line stuff now though - fine if [like me] last years camera will do fine
Super camera, only thing puts me off is the AA batteries, I like having the rechargeable units otherwise Id buy it.
Proprietary batteries generally cost a fortune ,whereas rechargeable AA's are cheap as chips, will probably last as long as the 'units' and available virtually anywhere. Pants reason why not to buy a 'super camera'
Superb camera, i got mine a few weeks back from Dixons at £14 more. A bargain price for a great foolproof camera. Hot.
Got mine under £140 when Ebuyer had it for that price and I went to PCW to get a pricematch plus 10%

Not had much chance to try it out but what I did take has been pretty good.

Be good, Dio http://emoticons4u.com/angels/teu26.gif

Being able to use AA rechargables is big plus point for me. I've been using Hybrio rechargables in mine. I've only had my camera a week; without using flash I filled a 1Gb card on a single charge. I tested them on flash and took over 35 shots without the flash recharge slowing down appreciably.

I bought mine as a refurb from Fuji for £109 which was too good a deal to resist. I'm really pleased with the camera but if you buy one don't expect fantastic picture quality:-

The bad points:
[*]Reds don't seem to be handled too well - for me they are washed out and there is no 'in camera' correction for this. (I have compared my camera with a friends S8000fd and it is no worse.)
[*]The video quality isn't the best - I think they use too high a compression; the sound is very good for a compact camera.
[*]Image quality is nowhere near that of a digital SLR - this does use a compact camera CCD after all.
Good points:
[*]The Zoom! (Ok it's not the fastest and sometimes you have to move to frame the shot just right - but it's still pretty good)
[*]Macro and Super Macro
[*]Flash! - This has great range from Macro to about 18 feet, even on auto it gets the exposure about right and the colours seem stronger than without.
[*]The Price! It might not be as good as the Panny FZ18 but is the Panny £80 better?
