Reviews on Reevoo and on Amazon are actually very good
This is actually a great camera and much better than the newer S1000
nice price ill heat you up abit
LOL @ £279.99RRP. Tesco's £179.97 is more like it. Nice little saving for a reasonable camera tho. Heated!
thanks, ordered one :)
I use this camera, i am not a pro and i find the results superb. I mainly use for family, indoors and out, but also for wildlife shots, long distance with a tripod it is superb, landscape shots are also superb, even without a tripod, thye image stabaliser system does a great job. Clarity is top notch, lighting is superb. All in all i am impressed with this camera it has never let me down yet. Battery life in 2300 NiMH is very good. I paid £180 last year, so this is a good price for a great camera i think, added with points and Topcash and any vouchers available its a steal. Thanks.
If it's anything like the S5800 then it'll be good.
i bought this at tesco at this price two weeks ago and have been thrilled with the results. Haven't heated because it was a fairly easy find which is why i didn't post myself

Well I did'nt see it and so I voted hot. Thanks OP and just because you could not be bothered to post it does not mean you could not heat it :lazy:
I've got an old Fujifilm S3500. I like the look and feel of the camera (impression of a camera expert but without the knowledge ;-) )and so am tempted to upgrade to a new Fuji. I don't use the camera that often and mainly on the annual holiday but I would like the larger zoom for wildlife shots. My only problem with the current camera is that night time shots have often blurred and when taking pictures of say birds (feathered!) the camera is too slow and i get a nice shot of the sky only! Have read the review for this on trusted review website but it's now puttiing me off :? Any more thoughts on this s8100fd or should I move away from a Fuji
voted hot. thankyou. have been waiting for a deal on a new camera with a decent optical zoom.
had a S8000FD which was rated 9/10 brought it for £150. Fantastic camera. Main problem trusted reviews found with the 8100 is increase of 2 megapixels but no work done on upgrading sensor and other parts.

Optics not as good as FZ18/28 but for about £100 less the 8000FD was worth it. If you've never used the 8000FD or the FZ18/28 you would never know the short coming.

Dual IS (optical & digital) works like a charm and everyone commented on how good the photos came out. Since moved onto a digital SLR (Sony A300) which is better under low light and more detail at same ISO & resolution but twice the price.

Simply put... this is a BARGAIN unless you're used to something better (FZ18/28 or DSLR)
It's a good price for this camera. You can get it sometimes from Fuji direct as a refurb with 6 months warranty for £135 (you can extend the warranty up to 3yrs).

The older model S8000 was better and had less noise and this is what the first feedback is probably referring to. The S6500 was even better than the newer models. Seems Fuji is on the backward pass, pressured by the consumer asking for ever increasing megapixels and not caring about the decreasing picture quality which comes with it.
I'm thinking about this or the Fuji S1500 for the same price.

Which is the better camera?
