I own this camera and it is very nice and at that price it is a very good buy. Voted Hot

Looks very good. Had to smile at the 16 MB memory card that is included !

Wow, bargain price.

I got this in the recent Dixons offer for £130ish.

It's a great camera.

Budget for a bigger XD card though, I have a 1Gb in mine giving me about 400 shots at top settings.

Just BUY IT! The best camera I have ever owned and I thought it was cheap at £200  What a bargain you have here, wish that I had waited a couple of months now :-(

Importantly for some this camera will also take filters, which usually are not too expensive to buy on ebay.
#8
I don't need another camera but have had to buy one of these !
My last 10 x optical zoom digi camera (only VGA resolution) cost me £350 8 years ago.

this is a quote from the Argos T's & C's

4.2 The price you pay is the price displayed on this website at the time we receive your order apart from the following two exceptions:
a) For products reserved online for store pick up or any other reservation service the price you pay is the price in store on the day of collection.

I took a screen print of the page that showed it at £112.49 but I really don't think that we will get anywhere with this as the Argos T&C's are very difficult to work around ie The price you pay is the price in store on the day.....
Anyone else care to comment if having a screen print of the price will be a help? (I'm guessing NOT!)

Hi I just wantto say MANY MANY thanks to the OP I have been drooling after this camera for ages.:giggle:
also I got mine in store today for £112.49.I reserved it yesterday and there was no problem . :p

I picked it up today and paid £112. Another nice present for the wife for Christmas, I had already got her a cheap 8mp camera but this was too good to turn down.

Use the smaller one when we are out and about and its not practical to carry this.

Mymemory have the 1gb memory cards for a bargain £17 (Plus reasonable postage and packing) and also some nice cases for £9.99 for this camera.

Quidco as well with them.

Another thankyou from me. I hadn't reserved one but popped into my local argos on the way home just in case and £112 later I have a lovely new camera. The picture quality is very good indeed.

Superb camera for the price!!
Thanks to all

I was seriously considering paying 220 quid for this camera a few months ago, but ended up going for a ridiculously cheap offer for the Panny FZ20. At this price it really is a no brainer.
#36
Wow, great price. I need to try to sell my canon A520 now!
#37
Can someone who has this camera already help me out please? As this camera takes 4AA batteries what's the battery life like?

My other digital cameras over the years have taken lithium ion batteries and I have it in my head that the S560 will 'drink' the battery power and I'll be forever recharging them. How long can I expect to be able to use the camera on 4 ordinary AA batteries and 4 rechargeable ones please on the best resolution for the pics?

Many thanks for your help.
#38
Ages. I can't tell you exactly how long as they last so long I can't work out how many hours in total. Simply put I travelled around Europe for nearly 3 months on one set of batteries (2700 NIMH) filling a good part of a 1 gig memory card. I didn't use the flash much and I imagine that it drains the battery quickly.
#39
Wow - that is impressive.
#40
Muppet the batteries last a long time i have the s5500 which is basically the same camera and never had a problem with battery power.
