Finally, a 1TB hard drive breaks the sub-£50 barrier! Time to pick up a couple and add them to the ZFS pool on my media server!

ZFS over USB, interesting. ZFS being the most fantastic file system in the world prefers exclusive control so make sure the little USB controller honours things like cache flushes etc before purchase.
Otherwise, go for the £40 1TB internal drives on and connect them to a real disk controller.
is this speed 5400 or 7200 (RPM)?
7200 rpm

I got a 1TB Maxtor drive in Comet or Currys a couple of months back, worth having a look
It's a good deal for an external drive don't get me wrong. I just don't understand why you would make an external usb2 zfs pool or buy this drive and take it out of the caddy when there are internal 1TB drives available for £40ish. oO
how does it cope with transfering large files?
