Got one of these a month ago for about £144. Good monitor. The stand isn't the greatest, the speakers are rubbish and I have dead pixel. But for the price, it is a very good monitor!

Ps It also has a VGA D-sub 15 input.

Does anyone know how it handles upscaling...? I dunno if my graphics card could play games at the native resolution.

Agreed. Monitors with speakers tend to have rubbish speakers, so you'd always end up getting a standalone set anyway. Then you get suspicious because they omit any specifications that are crucial to a PC user who knows what they're talking about and it feels like the monitor-with-speakers is just trying to be a TV.

Having said that, the rest of the specs are fairly decent. roughly the same as my 2 year old 19" monitor which I've been pleased with. However it's not for me because if I was going to buy a new monitor I'd want one with improved specs, like 2ms response time, not just a larger screen. Also I'd really need it to have a DVI port. Still an excellent price for what it is though - perfect for an out-of-the way 360 or PS3 setup.

It is a good deal, but personally I do no find the format particularly useful. The wide screen format is not practical to typical PC tasks, because you have to scroll so often. The monitor is hardly higher than a standard 19" TFT. And as a TV/media display it is a bit too small to really profit from the high resolution. So good price, but a compromise product.

totally disagree was sceptical at 1st but i love it the graphics are fab to quote my hubby "better picture than our 46' lcd" he is a tech by trade and he is v happy with it a steal for the price

I would like to connect a PS3 to this, however I am wary about the sound. What would be the best solution as far as cheap external speakers, or are the inbuilt speakers adequete?
#14
if its ordered on demand how long do you think it would take to arrive?
#15
we ordered ours over xmas took about 14days inc shutdown for xmas/newyear
#16
hubby says speakers r loud enough for ps3/xbox and if you are having to scroll the screen to see everything your settings arent right

It's a TN screen with a 5ms response time, which is good enough for all activities that require a quick response time.

I think you'll find 2ms screens quite a bit harder to find, & for considerably more.

Mine right now is 2ms, so 5 to me is like too much. Maybe other people wouldnt care, but I'm looking for 2-3ms actually :)

Im gonna game with it

You won't notice the difference at all.

Anyway, this seems like a better deal for only a few ££ more:

Iiyama 24" Prolite E2407hds Black - £166.73 inc DEL and voucher @ Insight

Not sure about the HD resolution for PC games though - perhaps you can set me right in this regard :)

can anyone confirm it has 3.5mm stereo audio output?

Cheers, I find these sort of things very tempting as bedroom tv's but I'd love to be able to add a cheap 2.1 speaker set just into a 3.5mm jack.

I'd be better off buying a 22" TV probably

The Samsung T220HD TV/monitor for £210 @ Amazon looks good.
